Always the “gotta have it right now!” types.

Vehicles are terrible wastes of money, don’t buy unless I absolutely have to. My wife worked me for years to pony up to buy a new truck, she was tired of me bitching and moaning fixing the old one. Which for some gawd damn reason we still have it, chasing an evap code on it now, probably a dry rotted line somewheres in the miserable fucking thing…

The LC has wide fender flares. However, the styling hides it unless viewed from head on:

Due to platform sharing, the line between the "light duty" Land Cruiser (250) and the "station wagon" Land Cruiser (300) is blurred - they're both quite large now.

Since the LC is hybrid-only in North America, cargo space will be less than the 5-seat non-hybrid 4Runner.

Wow. That seems like such a waste. Could have made the interior much wider and still keep the same tire footprint.

The Ineos is kinda terrible at cargo too. More I look at the new crop of BOF SUVs, the more I think they won’t work for what we need them to do, mainly my wife and all the bullshit she carries, her XC Tacoma is stuffed to the brim almost constantly.

The LC is better it appears.

For the 4th gen Taco, Sheldon mentioned garage fitment as the reason for keeping the cabin as wide as 3rd gen - so you can still open doors in the same space.

That apparently, isn’t a problem as people keep buying Bronco Raptors, F150 Raptors, and TRXs.

Why the hell can’t anyone design a rear seat that folds flat to the same level as the rear cargo area anymore?

I don’t believe much of what he says.
A Mustang is almost the same width as the Taco and it has massive doors and people still manage to park them in their garages.

The stupid thing about "First Edition" is it's still a first-year vehicle with all the bugs. It's very likely Toyota will do a refresh 3 years in with desirable enhancements, rendering the First Edition less valuable. Happened with 4th gen 4Runner, 5th gen 4Runner, 80-series LC, Mk V Supra...

Yeah I don’t know. Think the solution is a Crew Cab truck with a topper for gear storage. And in all reality kinda nice to keep the dirty smelly stuff separate from the cabin. My truck was down for repairs at the time, and tried hauling some steel tubing stock for a project in our old Trooper, what a pain in the ass that was laying down cardboard and old blankets so I wouldn’t get shipping oil all over the interior and then have her mad at me…ya know? ;) :D

I used my 4runner as a pick up truck and getting the cargo area filthy always was a concern compared to how easy it is to now have a pick up truck with a shell and a polycarbonate bed that I don’t give a shit if it’s dirty.

This is why 6th gen 4R is still made in Japan - Toyota doesn't expect to sell many LCs, so the Tahara plant has capacity.

Broken record here, spilled half gallon of saw gas in my old 4Runner…that was pleasant. At least the old ones you could take the top off to air out. Used that thing to haul dirt and firewood, then thought I really need a truck…

Do like having a SUV as an extra vehicle for the uber rare times we have to haul people, but even my wife likes trucks better.

I had two XJ Cherokees before my Tacoma. The back seat stayed folded down all the time before kids came into the picture. I always kept a small tarp in there to spread out for dirty stuff. I hauled all kinds of stuff in there from concrete blocks to drywall. The pickup is so much easier. :D
