Hybrid and PHEV vehicles, especially Toyota (market leader in PHEV hybrid) sell these BS vehicles more than any other auto mfg. on the planet. In the US they are popular with all major manufacturers and consumers wait for them.

That’s fine, but now that they are forcing me to buy a hybrid or walk I’m going to walk.

I mean I've never been forced to buy anything I didn't want vehicle wise.

I saw one today in person for the first time. It was smaller than I expected. My first thought was it’s a stretched out version of a Jeep Renegade.

Love mine! Of course, taco flies close cover in case the hybrid sh*ts the bed. But so far, so good!

Looks nice. I wish they came with better tires. Those look like they belong on a Corolla.

Agree on the stock tires, I have a 1958 just like the one above. I guess Toyota figures their owners will upgrade anyway. Still, the tires are fairly pathetic and mine will be getting replaced after new year. Just not sure to what yet.

It’s annoying. It would probably cost Toyota $50 to provide better tires. Instead we have to pay $1200 for a new set and the stock tires end up trashed. Such a waste.
Other than that how do you like the new LC?

Agree on Toyota’s cost for better tires, seems that is just what they do in general, provide very average road tires instead of what the vehicle should have, ugh….

So far really enjoying the LC, hard to really explain, it just fits me, or I fit it. Where I liked my Taco, I never truly loved it. With the LC, I really do love and enjoy driving it, and it fits my needs. Yes there are a few very minor gripes(stock tires, hah)but overall, nothing for me to really complain about.

This is what we need for the states to have. Or at least make this a trim for the new Land Cruiser below the 58 edition.

    Just getting started.
I'm not a huge fan of diesel, but would defiantly love the Series 70.

Looks like they are doubling down on the hybrid derp, so I’m just waiting for the new 4Runner to come out.

here in the states, i predict this model LC will be short less than 8-year run then it will go back into hibernation.

Finally got new shoes for my LC 1958 version. After having BFG KO’s on about every former Toyota that I have owned, stuck with them. So far, so good. KO3 275/70/18. Stock rims. IMG_0017.jpg IMG_0016.jpg

Yes, does look much better, and overall, it drives a bit more stable. More driving though will tell the overall tale.

I like the LC a lot, and has become my favorite vehicle to drive since I don’t know when. The driving position, effortless feel to it, visibility, plus a suspension that just feels so right overall, is a wonderful thing. I am also enjoying the overall engine and tranny a good deal bit more than my 23 Tacoma. It isn’t a barn burner, but for my needs, has a smoother acceleration/take off by far with no weird transmission shifting at the worse time. The engine can be a little noisy/buzzy when cold, but fine once things get warmed up. The LC isn’t perfect for sure, some small gripes, but nothing is perfect by any means. So far I have logged about 8 months and almost 8K miles between my wife’s Premium and my 1958. More time will tell, planning some trips this spring and summer with some trails in there to test the off road part of things a bit more.
