So... I am tossing around the idea now of holding onto my pickup for the long haul and am wondering what things I might run up against in terms of failure or somewhat major replacement over the next 100k. What are some things that YOU are concerned about as your truck has crept up over 100k. I am not necessarily curious as to what you think will break on my truck, but what in the back of you mind you have come to terms with having to replace that you are not looking forward to. Fire away!

I am at 100k now...really wondering when/if I'll need transmission work in the future. Everything's peachy now, but I too want to keep my truck for a very long time. This is my first auto and I don't hear too much about people having transmission issues but the thought's been sitting in the back of my mind for a while now. My 96 4runner needed transmission work at about 150k and it was not cheap...

Good post. Interested in the discussion to follow!

2000 91,000 water pump O2 sensor then frame recall ended it. 2008 84000 just front pads and lube changes. I'd be concerned with the Tacoma frame since that is the problem they don't bother to correct. I got a stick so I wouldn't have auto concerns.
