Ok I was worried if I did that it would mess up the hinges.

 

Ill let others chime in here.

 

I’ve got KB Mid Height rack and 62 Walkabout. I’ve enjoyed the 62. We have family of 4. Two sleep up top and two below in cots. I was literally just looking at the short annex. We are camping this week and I have what I think is the tall which works but, really is to long. I purchased mine when they came with the annex.

 

Just sit on it like another has psaid in each corner as you Velcro it. I’ve had it like that for two years until now and no issues

 

also might want to upgrade your straps to cam buckle straps. The velcro doesn't hold up that well

 

I too am a side sleeper and I too found in the long run that the foam mattress that came with my tent wasn't enough.

My solution, tho a bit pricey, was an Exped Megamat Duo. If your tent is 56" wide, this mattress will fit very well between the hinges.

Excellent support and no more hip or shoulder issues in the morning.

 

What size tires/lift do you have?

 

OME lift with Heavy Dakar’s. Lift is somewhere between 2.5-3. Tires are 285’s. I’ve never really measured to see what exactly it sets at.

This is my plan, just not entirely sure if there is enough room. Im pretty sure the ARB is 55" but wanted too see if anyone else had the measurements to confirm or not.

 

Meant to post this earlier. Hopefully we can get the memory foam back in it tonight and do the sit method. If not then I’m considering two of those self inflating air mattress’s

 

x2 on the Exped. Game changer for side sleepers.

 

Any ideas for where to mount a solar panel to keep a PLB40 topped off when the truck is stationary? Roof space is a bit limited...

 

I moved my traction boards to the inside of the bed and put my solar there. My rotopax is on my swing out but you may not have that luxury.

 

Get rid of the leaky pax and put it there!

 

I agree with this as well. Something about the possibility of flammable gas leaking on top of the cab where I’m driving never sat quite right with me.

 

He could drill his cap and put them outside of a window?

Im working on mounting mine right now

 

Used to have them on the side of my bed rack. Then they got moved to inside the cap when I bought the cap. Then I build my bed drawers and had to move them again, so now they're up top. Running out of places for them.
