Yes I've thought of that too. I don't like having them inside the cap, since they'd be hard to get at, and don't want to put them away there when muddy. But on the other hand the thought of drilling into my brand new cap doesn't give me the best feels either.

Your boards weight next to nothing what maybe 5 -10 lbs? Put a bungee across the top and put them against the roof. Just an idea. I built a cage in my shell out of unistrut to support the rtt and my handsome burley self and then used threaded rod and put them on the cage but my next plan of attack would have been putting them on the roof when I did the rtt.

Hood space is probably my last frontier. I guess that would be cheaper than a swing out. But a swing out just sounds like so much more fun.

You could get a flexible panel and put it on your rtt cover between the straps

Could you mount them to the cap roof? Underneath?

Another option is attach tracks to the outside where your window is on the shell. Some guy did it and I’ve been searching for the last few minutes for and I can’t find it anymore. But he used the holes for the screws on the window instead of drilling new. I was gonna copy his idea if I hadn’t built the cage.

Can use rok straps, and some of these eyelets on the underside of your cap rails.

Swingouts are fun! And then making tables for them, and then sticker bombing is too!

I see you have your fridge slide on plywood. Is the plywood attached to anything? Is this how you avoid drilling? I have a slide I plan to install next weekend and want to avoid drilling the bed.

    Thanks!

I think im way past "not drilling". (Ive had a short bed Bedslide and a long bed - both with different mounts)

I have the plywood attached in 2 rivnuts where the bedslide used to go. Its not going anywhere. But that is a good option to not drill. Just adds some extra weight that might not be necessary. Im using 3/4" wood that i kinda stained/sealed. Ill probably have to redo it next year.

Ive been thinking about adding bed bolt supports for my rack, so I may even need to build a small drawer to fit them. And then ill have to figure out a tilt for my fridge. But thats way later down the road.

Has anyone made a cover for their RTT when off-road? I'm thinking something plastic to deflect branches and protect the PVC cover. I don't go off road too much, but that's why I built the truck. I want something light and easy to throw over and attach to the rack or something. When I'm just camping I just won't take it.
