Hey, stupid question. If I put a RTT on and it covers the shark fin over the back of the cab, does that interfere with the sat radio and GPS?

My camper is about a foot over the fin on my 3rd gen and XM still works. But the part that's hanging over it is just plastic, no metal material.

My RTT is on the roof and it blocks XM most of the time

i didn’t have good results. It seemed as long as I headed south it worked. If I went north, then no bueno.

If you head south enough you'd get to the place you wanted to get to going north.

Recently purchased an iKamper Skycamp 2.0, haven't received it yet, but I am preparing my mounting solution for my short bed. I currently use a softopper so I purchased the @Mobtown Offroad bed rack. It uses cross bars similar to those on the Prinsu and @victory4x4 racks. I know that the RTT will overhang onto the cab so, my question is will I need to get put a top rack (Prinsu or @victory4x4) which would typically go on a fiberglass camper shell in order to clear the roof line?

I wouldn’t put a rack on the cab because the cab and bed will flex independently of each other

True. I would be mounting the tent to the bed rack but would still need some clearance as it would overhang onto the cab about 12 inches.

@diabetiktaco has some overhang on his tent
I would think that much overhang is ok, just as long as he doesnt put all of the weight on that part.

My tent overhangs about 7" past my bed

Here is a video we just made of what happens when the tent falls of. Not really trying to push our YouTube as we literally only have this one video but we thought it would be interesting enough to share.
