    I understand.
I can tell you they have a big investor and they have over 100 tents coming in March and they’re going to be building they’re RTT’s in America starting late this year/ year next.

What are the main differences between the 4 person hard shell tents by DA, Tuff Stuff, ikamper and roofnest. At a quick glance they all look the same but the prices vary widely.

Usually the looks. Height of shell. Insulation. Mattresses.

Accessories. It’s mostly the accessories / personal details of each tent company.

Fabric material of the tent are all the same.

Sizing is slightly different on most of them and then personal touches such as some of them have chords on the side to help the sides close in when closing the lid. For me it's determining which one you will take care of me the best if something isn't right. If MIA sold their four person thru costco like they do their two person I'd be all over it because costco takes care of their customers.

Thanks kherron. We were at the coast...low 40s Friday and low 50s Saturday night. Dew points made it feel worse Friday night. Anyway thanks for your reply and do believe we'll be adding one to our tent.

I’ve been waiting on my joolca hot water heater for like 5 months now.
    :frusty:

I like how you used the water port here though. I have one of them too. Is that enough water for a shower?

Btw I spy a Desert Armor tent. @NukedTaco here is another customer

    Gosh dang that is beautiful
Your first sentence...I have no dog in that hunt but I do rip them a bit on IG just to rub them wrong. selling a product they don't have? Crazy BS. Last time I read a story just like yours and stated "camplux or tritons" are ready to be shipped. Think joolco deleted shortly after I posted. :D Good luck with them man. I would have lost patience.

Got an 8 gal just waiting on my bravo rack. That little water port allowed 1.5 showers this weekend. 1 for me and .5 for my son. ha! He loves it though. But I had to refill and that sucked. "Hot shower on the beach dad?..weird but cool"! About 1.5 gallons works perfect for me though. The 8 gal ought to be the bees knees..and save my back on refills.

And yes sir. DA family for a while now. Great folks that sell what they use - that's what sold me on the tent. Thinks it's Alex I chat with on IG on occasion. Sent him the padre island pics from this past weekend.. Great folks for sure and would like to meet them some day when we're out west.

Screen Shot 2021-01-19 at 9.45.52 AM.jpg Does anybody have one of these 6'10" pop up tents on their trucks? How do you have them mounted? Im really trying to get one, but I think that would be too much tent hanging out past the rear of the truck.

    update on "winter" camping.

I went down to Oil Well Flats near Canon City, CO last weekend. temps were forecast with a low in the mid 20s, it definitely got there. both my bags were rated to 20F, one is a Kelty down and the other is a Marmot synthetic. My gf took the down one (much nicer bag) and was warm enough besides her head (she wasn't mummified in there with the hood up and it fully zipped). We managed to borrow a Mr Buddy heater for the weekend, but honestly that thing scared my in the tent. I ran it for maybe 5 minutes before climbing in for the night, which proved kinda useless since we both forgot something, had to climb out and let all the heat out. but the open flame scared me thinking one of us would stretch out legs and melt a bag or something.

our comforter for out bed made its way out there with us too. so each of us in our bags with the comforter on top made for a toasty night. i woke up at some point and had to take one of my pairs of pants off since i was sweating a bit and had to take my arms out of the bag. the tent wasn't completely level which meant my gf was pretty much on top of me. this made me a bit claustrophobic being squashed between her and the tent wall. there were points in the night i was literally shoving her to the other side of the tent.

my sleeping sock made a huge difference. i had my normal hiking socks on but at some point in the night they werent enough. luckily i keep thick/warm socks in all my sleeping bags so slipping those on made a good difference. i did shove my down jacket near my feet around this point to so it could have been either.

i didnt boil water for a nalgene. the tent did get a bit frosty the next morning, but i aired it out when i got home.

after its all said and done, i dont think ill be going out specifically to winter camp in the future. if theres some activity(snow shoeing, star gazing with a telescope, biking) i want to do in the area for sunset/sunrise i could be convinced to go out, but not just for the experience of camping.

...After gawking for several minutes at the brilliant green of patinaed copper in the early morning sun, we retreated from the summit - back to the Tacoma waiting below. Once there, we didn't have far to go - as retraced our path down Echo Canyon - before we reached the narrow dry fall that we'd encountered the evening before.

No longer trying to find camp before dark, we had a few more moments to savor this interesting couple hundred feet of road, and I took full advantage....

you may have to mount it above the cab if you don’t want it to stick out the rear.

That sink setup would be handy. Post up pics when you get it setup.

keep in mind any latches on the front. If there are any you'll have to move it even further back to clear them.
I have a Maggiolina on a camper shell, so no issues that you're looking at.
This is not my pick, my setup is identical to it, truck, tent, etc.

Ok I have a question. Why Joolca? I've been looking at the Hottap, Eccotemp, Camplux and Gasland, and the one standout feature of the Joolca seems to be the extra $200 you spend on it. If it's a much better unit than the others, how so? Serious question. Other than the plastic sink and spout (on the Nomad) I'm trying to understand the appeal. Hoping to pull the trigger soon (Eccotemp is hard to find but not the others) so I can install it same time as my Propex. Thanks!

Well. They have a solid ad campaign for 1. haha jk
So I was looking for a way to do hot showers and clean dishes better. (Well. Pretty much both for wife)
Anyways. I bought the joolca for the nomad and the sink. I like how it all packages up. Then I seen a buddies and I was sold. I’m sure that other brands are just as good, and probably better. But for me the sink and it all in one package sold me. Also the rechargeable battery.

looking back. I’d probably have done some more research and bought something different.
