I bought a cheap flexible led strip, got the dimmer from a local lighting store, it's intended for under cabinet lighting and spliced it together with a connector so it can be disconnected when the tent is off the trunk

We (Tepui) gave away an Ayer RTT at the CruiserFest Raffle on Saturday. Went to a cruiser owner with a Japanese right hand drive BJ70 Land Cruiser. Gonna be sweet and the dude was stoked about winning the tent.

I was curious about my tent, I took the cover off this afternoon and some of the tent is wet, right where the zipper is, all the way around. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jay

You can cut the wire off and use the jack for the bottom of the switch, make sure your polarity is correct, there are capacitors in the dimmer that will blow up if you reverse the polarity

The time has come! People have been asking for it and it's finally here. One of the most popular Tepui Tents just got better. The Tepui Autana, the 3-man tent with annex and privacy canopy is now available as a Ruggedized Autana! This is quite possibly the toughest and most versatile rooftop tent on the market. Personally the Autana is my favorite, and I love my Ruggedized XL so I'm really excited that the Autana can now be had with all the killer upgrades that I love about my Ruggedized XL.

If you've been considering a RTT you've got to check this one out. Of course whether you want want this new tent or any of the other Tepui products you can contact me for great prices.

    Autana Ruggedized
All of the killer features of the standard Autana with the extended canopy and included annex, now with all the upgrades of the Ruggedized models.
The Autana Ruggedized is the toughest Tepui roof top tent on the market. It is perfect for 4x4 trailers and tough off-road rigs.
    - Diamond Plate Base
    - 360g Dual Stitched Fabric (40% heavier than standard models)
    - Anti-condensation mat (1/2") under the mattress
    - Fully wrapped 3/4" heavy duty internal frame
    - Heavy duty 3-bolt hinges and welded aluminum base construction
    - Extra-large internal pockets, gear anchor points, & bedding Straps
    - Velcro window surround for clear window accessory (sold separately)
    - Fully enclosed annex featuring the same heavy duty material used for the tent canvas.

Yeah that's your best bet. Sell the one you have and put the money toward the purchase of a new one. That's what I did with my own.

    Hey BoxRocket,

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on one of your all's setups and had a couple questions before calling you and placing the order.

My girl really wants the downstairs changing room thingy that wraps around the ladder. Is that available as an add on to the Kukenam?

I'm torn between the Autana, because it has that privacy room and then what is the anex? I couldn't really see any inside pictures of what that is.

thanks for clearing any of this up! Looking forward to it!!

Oh, I see the annex is the lower privacy changing room thingy...

What makes the difference between the annex covering around the ladder entirely and going up to the tent roof covering the tent entrance rather than the pic on the website which shows it from the truck to back of the ladder only?

    Sorry for the questions

You can add an annex (changing room) to the Kukenam but it does not enclose the ladder so you don't get quite the same level of privacy that you do with the Autana. My wife loved our Autana because she could get out of the tent and climb down into the changing room and get dressed in the morning without even having to be "outside". With the Kukenam, you'd come out of the tent and climb down the ladder outside and then go into the annex.

Here's a photo of a Ruggedized Kukenam with annex to show what I mean.

aaaaah, ok, so with the autuna you get the full enclosure. Guess that makes up my mind! Autuna is it! Thanks for clearing that up. I'll be calling you all soon, hopefully in a week or two.

Second question, these come with some kind of mattress pad? I ordered a airbedz thing but might return it if we can get away with using a heavy comforter or something along with our double sleeping bag.

So when I order the Autuna it will come with that complete annex too?

Yes the Autana comes with the annex. All of the tents come with a 2" high-density foam mattress. I have personally never felt like I needed any extra padding to be comfortable in my tents. IMO, the mattress that comes with the tents is very comfortable as is and my wife has even said she sleeps better in the tent than she does at home.
