Yes the Autana comes with the annex. All of the tents come with a 2" high-density foam mattress. I have personally never felt like I needed any extra padding to be comfortable in my tents. IMO, the mattress that comes with the tents is very comfortable as is and my wife has even said she sleeps better in the tent than she does at home.

So I've been cruizin this whole thread and see most everyone opens these tents off to the side....Can you rotate them 90 to open so the ladder goes over the tail gate and then you can have covered access to your bed where your gear is? Is it the dimensions of the RTT that makes it only operate in one direction or is it the mounting points?

Pretty sure u can with all them. The mounting rail should be able to rotate for the other bolt holes

When you assemble the tent, you'll have the option of which way to install the two rails that will allow you to mount it so that it opens to the rear.

For the Tepui, it's obvious as to how to do that.

With the Tepui, at least, you have to cut the rails when mounted to open off the back of the truck since they extend past the edge.

I just got my Autana mounted over the cab (thule bars) tonight. Getting it up there was no sweat, but then getting it squared up and bolted down was a PITA. Better to have it over the bed, but I have a frontrunner rack there for extra gear when the dogs ride along. Taking it out for the first time this weekend. So excited.

If you have a 4Runner opening to the rear isn't an option unless you don't plan on opening the rear cargo door. (See below)

Yeah you're able to open them any direction you want. Most people go off the side because they use their tailgates for things like cooking, and you don't really want your tent above that. Also some tents don't have a panel on the side that faces the bed, and others still have an access panel in the wall to allow you to get things out of the bed of your truck while inside the annex.

On a 2 week camping trip right now from SoCal to Denver and back. Camped in Grand Mesa National Park the other night. Beautiful place. Put the annex on for the first time and it definitely helped keep things a little warmer and was very nice to store boots and extra clothes down at the bottom.

Spent seven nights in the tent this week. First six I was on a fishing trip but didn't get pics as I was just in a campground. Last night I drove home from fishing 100 miles, then unpacked and repacked and headed out in a different direction another 100 miles to fish somewhere else. Camped on the river and the tent did great in some HEAVY rain.

Ha thanks. I've used it every weekend since I got it I think. Trying to use it all I can until winter hits.

Only issue I've had, other than the zipper breaking on the cover, is the mattress has been wet pretty much every time I open it. Right next to the hinge on the side facing forward on the truck. And the two corners on the side opposite the ladder too sometime. I'm hoping it's condensation but it's seems heavier than that. It certainly hasn't leaked while it's up. And I slept in some serious rain this week to really test it.

Do you have the incorrect cover (The one made for the telescoping ladder).

Mine leaks in exactly the same spot just like you explained. I haven't put on the new, correct, cover they sent me but I'm betting it helps since it won't be stretched out like my old one is.

I'm pretty sure it's the right one. It's got the little hump that goes the width of the tent where the ladder sits. But I'm finding myself pulling down on the tent while I try to zip up the cover at the same time. It's baggy on the side where the cover slides into but extremely tight on the other.
