The only thing that gets me is if it were only a hardware issue, you'd think their fix would be to send out new hardware to folks vs offering them an entirely new tent. Good on them either way. Better than Dometic realizing you can't have 12v and 120v plugged in at the same time on some of their new fridges and their solution is a sticker telling you to not plug both in.

Think of all the people who don’t want to mess with their 3k purchase…. Especially changing hardware like that. First world problems.

Haha yeah I think my dometic you can’t have both plugged in.

On a brand new 3k tent, yep.

rather interesting comment coming from you, based on my recent shit sandwich from Desert Armor, who I guess expected the customer to modify there 3k tent to keep,it dry and clean.

Pretty much said that because if you and a few others.

makes sense though not wanting to modify anything. Some people are just like that.

We have one on order and hopefully it will be here the end of the month. It was supposed to be end of May, but Covid is a good excuse for everything these days.
Looking forward to it as we're tired of the dusty/dirty cover on our Smittybilt. Great tent, especially for the price we got it for a few years ago, but done with the canvas.

Yep. Everything is on super delays. Covid is the excuse unfortunately. And others. I was told recently that the tent factories in China are having to deal with the government doing rolling blackouts.

Every few months I have to tighten the bolts under my mattress. Holding the RTT to the rails. Granted my tent is 4+ years old at this rate so idk if its the same design, but either way it kind falls on the user to do a pre-flight walkdown of the vehicle haha

before every season, I do this too. The type of trails I'm taking the truck and RTT on, things do get loose so its good practice to give everything a little tighten.

that's why when I mounted mine they got a spring washer, Blue Locktight an a jam nut. Overkill.. yea it is. But Loosing something that large on the highway could be deadly.

    Yeah.
Now you guys have me worried, lol. Well, not really. My tent has been on for over a couple of years and I have never checked the bolts that attach the tent to the rails. However, I do the wiggle test and always give it a slap and say, "Yep, that's not going anywhere."

    Yeah.
You need to brush up on your man spells. Neither the slap nor the words by themselves complete the spell, it must be both.

I have no complaints at all. My gf and I have a softer bed at home and the tents mattress is more firm for sure but we wake up less sore in the morning in the tent then at home. I find it to be very comfortable and I am a side sleeper. Plenty of space for blankets and sleeping bags. Pillows could probably stay but we use them to make a higher platform for our dog in the back seat. Our first night in it we were in a canyon is Colorado and the wind picked up like crazy I think sustained was in the 20s with gusts in the high 30s and the tent didn't have any issues.
