I was able to find a decked system secondhand through a forum member and wow it makes packing and organizing a hell of a lot easier. I don't daily my truck so I just leave the goodies in there all the time. Before the drawer system, I used to pack everything in action packers and on my 2 week camping trip i realized how much of a pain it was having to unstrap and unpack heavy boxes (I have a midheight bedrack and sometimes items were too big so i couldn't just crack the top off). Albeit, i couldve packed things a little smarter but I'd still have to unstrap and pull the box down

I believe it’s an Alu-Cab 270 that my buddy got with the Alu-Cab camper.

Well, wife and I hit up a few petroglyphs and ruins outside of Bluff, UT.

But when we started our drive into Arch Canyon, I could not get the 4wd to engage.
    Fuck!:annoyed:

So we gave up on off roading and went to a sweet camp spot I spotted last time we were here.

A little shakedown trip to the LBJ Grasslands since it’s been a while since I took the truck out anywhere. Glad I did this because I realized a hinge bolt vibrated itself out and needed replacement, and there were a few others not far behind. I also decided it was time to get the new transit cover on since I’ve had it for almost a year now. It’s the only clean thing on the truck at the moment

It’s very easy, feel free to ask questions in the lair if you get to that point.

I haul it on the back and then kick it to the ground while I wheel. Come back after a long day and throw it in the front, out come the steaks. Thanks!

When I think grasslands I think "wind". That looks nothing like I imagined. How was camping? Many people around or did you have enough room to stretch out in silence?

It wasn’t windy at all actually while we were there. It’s not what I expected as far as terrain goes either. Sure, there are some open fields of tall grasses and brush, but they’re in between wooded areas, so it’s all broken up. I went out the day before and scouted about 10 different campsites and All but two were still free when I rolled up Friday evening at like 5:30. Not many folks around aside from some hunters really. It is a cool localish place to go unplug for a while, but it’s definitely not a “destination” to travel to.

I had one of the straps on my transit cover break going down the highway yesterday. There’s a company I’ve seen before who makes ridiculously overkill replacement ones that are like $50-60 a pair, but their name is escaping me. Anyone know who it might be?
For some reason I keep thinking the name is cutesie and rhymes like “happy strappy” or something. :anonymous:

Anyone get and use this new looking hotness yet from Roofnest: Condor Overland? I don’t think there are any reviews on YouTube for it yet; didn’t see any when I searched.
