Looking for recommendations on a solid storage container to hold camp stuff. Plano seems to have some solid reviews?

I like my Rubbermaid actionpacker totes. They’re solid enough I can stand on them. I use a large one for all my spare parts in the bed and it’s help up so far.

 

When I worked out of bins I used these. Super strong and water tight. They have a rubber seal around the lid. Stick very nicely too.

Figured I'd check with you guys before pulling the trigger on this. I'm looking for a bedrack that I can also use a tonneau cover with below. Would basically be used only for a RTT. I'm thinking that the KB Voodoo cross bars is probably my best, cheapest option that fits the bill? I was considering just buying a diamondback cover until I realized that the cross bars on that were an additional like $600.

I use all Plano stuff for storage and never had an issue. I use the ammo crates for smaller stuff like overflow pantry that doesn't fit in Drawer system. I use the bigger one for sheet and blankets/pillows that don't fit in RTT when closed. The ammo crate comes with dividers which makes it nice as well. I use the ammo crates as step stools in the garage all the time lol.

How do you guys secure them? Was thinking rubber mat, tie downs, gear net...?

Would like to secure it closer to cab (part of bed near tailgate is used for hunting purposes, if it makes a difference)

I use an oem bed mat or you could put a bed bar behind them to sandwich them between the bar and tailgate.

 

I have a rollup cover that i use with my victory bed rack. No special modifications were needed. All mounts up as should. The key was getting a cover that mounts on the inside of the bed rails and not on top.

Anybody use waterproof spray on their RTT? I purchased a can from Cabelas to give it a try. Nothing leaks on it but it's a few years old now. Figured it couldn't hurt.

Yeah I seam sealed 80% of the exposed seams on my tent as well as spray it yearly before the season with Kiwi Camp dry heavy duty. I also do my annex as well cause its thin as hell.

I have a Smittybilt Overland XL which is not exactly top of the line but the seam seal and water repellant help a bunch.
I used this on the seams but when it dries it looks wet 24/7:

I haven't tried that. I read something that mentioned washing them on occasion with regular soap and water can do wonders for longevity on keeping them waterproof. The build up of dust/grime etc. can lead to premature leaks. And if ya ask me to provide a link to what I read, I'll need to plead the 5th here as it was late night web crawling when I couldn't sleep.

Wanting to bring a propane tank for cooking and wanting to make sure its secure when I'm driving. Looked for "cages" and all I found were industrial ones that were $200+

What do you guys use to secure propane tanks?

 

I have these too and they're much better than the actionpackers IMO (of which I have also had several).
It was a while back, but I was getting them for 40 each at cabelas. Must be a different brand.
