    Yeah.
FWIW, I went with an awning size that extends out forward a bit, longer than the length of the roof. I was a little concerned that it would bug me, but I can't see it when driving. I'm glad I did, as it gives quite a bit more coverage. Opened up, it's not only wider, but it pulls out further than the smaller size from the same brand. I went with ROAM since the company founder is friends with my neice's husband, but I assume the "good" ones are about the same design and quality.

Has anyone ever come across flexible solar panels with an adhesive backing?

I just bought a new hardshell tent and I'd like to mount solar panels on it. The roof is smooth but curved and there are no real mounting points for a rigid solar panel like one from Renology.

I'm envisioning some flexible panels that I could install using a "Peel & Stick" method.

    Any suggestions?

They exist. No idea what they’re called, but they do exist and work exactly as you’re describing. I have a friend with some on his hardshell rtt.

Agreed. That would work but it's not worth the price.

Anyone remove your mattress and replace with a inflatable? I currently have a 23Zero and thinking about doing this to obviously improve mattress quality but, increase space for sleeping bags and annex so everything is inside the tent. Pros/cons?

    Yeah.
If you can get an ExPed in a size that mostly fits, I highly recommend them. Mostly self-inflating but do need a top-off, squish down for plenty of room for bedding, and super comfy to sleep on. I sleep on one at home as well, they are that good.

Finally got to try out this Roofnest Condor Overland recently at one of our local mountains. It’s like those IKamper mini style tents, but with an aluminum shell. A bit heavier, but roomier than the Tepui Ayer II we previously used.

Picked up the 55" hybrid CVT awning since it was on sale. Mounted to the Prinsu using the supplied L brackets and afterwards headed to the mountains!

Good day, I am working on possibly updating my current RTT (MIA Pioneer) to a CVT hybrid Shasta EV. They had advertised 40% off a few weeks ago and I picked up the awning and now looking at the tent. Seems the advertising has been removed although the prices are still the same, $1800. Other than the tight tolerance of the buckle system are any current owners still happy with their purchase? I would probably go standard fly if they had the color I want in stock since I use a lower rack than the annex isn't much use.

I was checking out the new iKamper hybrid model although the price difference doesn't make it worth it in my situation.

Thanks for any input you might have.

Still working on my modification to the cover, the material is on backorder for a month. Other then the tight tolerance for the cover, CVT makes one damn nice tent. I cant wait for nicer weather to hit Ohio, I'm going to use this a lot. I have the annex, but only used it once last year. I am planning to only use it for long duration trips. Probably set a cot up down there for extra sleeping if needed. Also, nice for storing stuff, but mostly that's what I use the truck bed for.

Def would purchase another one in the future.

I would say yes, it a big upgrade (in my opinion) Over a standard RTT. THe cover is pretty tight until it gets worn in so its kinda a pain at first. But its pretty easy once worn in. Its very robust as it should be for the 180lbs's it is lol. Overall im happy and would buy again. PS i was at CVT Nevada in DEC. and they said they have a new model of Hybrid coming. Not sure what its going to be like. Thats probably why the sale.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm thinking of fab'ing a way to raise my tent if I would like during certain times in order to use the annex although prefer the tent be lower when lugging the dog up the ladder.

Thanks! Yeah I think I saw mention of possibly a new version. I'm guessing it will be better competition for the iKamper version although if I can get a discount on the current one I'll go that route.

    Morning all...
Am looking at getting some 265/75/r16s... prob Toyo ATIIIs...
Does anyone have experience on stock SR5 suspension with a RTT, rack and gear and notice any rubbing with a tire that size?

Your going to need a heavier leaf pack. Your OEM suspension will sag alot. Doesn't take much on the stock leaf packs.
