I keep forgetting to take a pic for you. I will get one tomorrow for you. Seems to be about 4 or 5 inches?

I would appreciate it. I’ve been looking at that rack system.

I have the TC bed stiffeners and wondering if the rack would still work with them. It appears that the two posts go right where the stiffeners are. Do you have stiffeners?

The leitner rack does not work with TC stiffeners, which is a bummer. Could with some cutting and grinding I’m sure. But seems to me that the Leitner stiffeners actually work a little better than the TC ones. I’ll take a couple pics mañana

So, Leitner makes their own and work with the rack? I didn’t notice that option. Will have to check that out.

So far, the TC’s are not keeping my bed sidewalls perpendicular to the bed.

My TCs did ok. But the leitner ones seemed to pull it together a bit better?
Here’s pics of the back with measurements.

Nice. Thx. It appears that you lose some convenience, but nothing major. Probably not a big deal unless packing for a long trip.

It appears that the Leitner stiffys are on top of the posts?

So I noticed that my plastic bed caps were dented from the weight of tent, bed rack and weight of people in tent. Anyone else have this issue and if so any easy fix? I thought about going with KBV bed caps but, like the idea of the plastic being thicker than just the metal.

I like the hidden design of the 4WP stiffeners! It's a cool idea.

Why do you guys suggest these ones?
All I see is that they go all the way to the top of the bed side. How would these compare to Caliraised or similar?

Importing into Canada is a pain and expensive. 4WP actually distributes Caliraised products for a very reasonable price.

There are some Canadian companies that make bed stiffeners too.

For the bed stiffeners going all the way to the top is the important part. Physics and lever arms and all that…. the top of the bed sides are going to feel the force more than the middle of the bedsides, and the TC are one of the few that go all the way up.

If you off-road at all you’ll soon start noticing cracks in the sheet metal under the bed caps and around the tail lights etc (ask me how I know). I’m not sure it worry about the plastic caps being dented, beyond it being sign of more to come.

Just got my tent all installed a couple days ago. A couple questions for you guys. What type of blocks are you using to level out the truck? And what type of bedding do you use? I'm sure I could just throw a bag in there and call it a day but regular blankets seem like they would be more comfortable

Rocks… and bed sheets/ regular bedding for our tent, as it can close with the bedding in it.

Rocks or logs/firewood. I bought blocks and used them a couple times but they take up too much space for me.

I use these. They don't take up too much room.

ive been meaning to get some max traxx or alternative and would use those to level.

for bedding i have a couple sleeping bags and pillows i use. i dont leave them in the tent all the time, only when im out. so if we leave friday and come back sunday, the sleeping stuff is in the tent friday and saturday night. i take them out after every trip to air it out and give them a good wipe down

I have to second these. I've used them for years. Recommended them to my buddy who also owns a Tacoma. He bought my old RTT when I upgraded and he loves them.

You can see them leveling the front of my truck for a night of camping in the pictures below!

Just for good measure, here are a few more camping pictures. I've managed to get out the last 2 weekends camping and got to take our new 4 month old on her first camping trip!

Anybody put LED light strip and usb plugs in their tent? What lights? What usb charger? I had a simple blue sea usb/cig plug/voltmeter in the back of the truck but want something enclosed for the tent
