I’ve looked and looked and looked but can’t find anything that really works.

I’m looking for a “folding” hard shell tent, side exit that can support kayaks/a canoe on top…

    anyone have any ideas?

Something like a roofnest condor overland?
Side note, I've heard mixed reviews of roofnest

Not exactly what you’re asking but close. I think the Ikamper soft shell can take a load too.

I’m running a 270 awning attached to my rack so it sits too high (17.5in rack) How you have it set up was my original plan, then I decided I needed an awning too lol.

What model is that tent? I like that it's a hard shell and fits exactly within the bed dimensions. Thanks!

I'm sure this have been asked a million times, sorry! But is there a better way to secure the 2.0? I have Billie bars and the newer mounts won't fit around my crossbars. I'm hoping for something a bit more secure.

I have secured 2 different styles of tents. Just like your picture. Or are you talking theft prevention?

Yes, theft prevention, sorry should of made that more clear. Right now it's as easy as chopping some bolts (or removing the nuts).

Hi there, that’s the Ikamper skycamp mini. It’s pricey but love everything about it. https://ikamper.com/products/skycamp-3-0-mini

Besides that Ikamper Sky Camp mini, the Roofnest Condor Overland (a Condor Overland 2.0 is on pre-order, I think) and a CVT Mt. Washington (I saw one in person at their Las Vegas showroom last year, but it looks like they’re not selling them anymore) are aluminum hard shell rtt’s that have footprints which can fit over the shortbeds well with little to no overhang when centered.

Just go to mcmaster carr and buy some security nuts with the appropriate key in the thread needed?

TuffStuff sells a security hardware set, not sure if it'd work on whatever model you have, though I believe most of those mounting threads/size are pretty universal.
