It should be fine. Its living on a DIY prinsu type rack, installed in my DIY tracks/rails that didn't originally come on the Leer :anonymous::anonymous:

Any ideas how to mount the front runner quick release mounts so they are more secure? Freaks me out only having a total of 8 1/4” carriage bolts securing the tent. I was thinking about maybe adding u-bolts that wrap around the whole bar.

Looks to me like there's plenty of room to drill another 1/4" hole to make that a total of 16 1/4" carriage bolts.

I wouldnt stress about the bolts. when they break you already shit your pants and have much bigger problems to worry about than where your tent went

those should be fine. Maybe a quick check here and there after some heavy off-roading but i think you're good.

    Yeah.
I only have 6 bolts and thought that was overkill.

Let us know how you like your Kammok awning. I’ve been eyeing one myself.

Anybody with an ikamper mounted low on the bed have an annex? I just ordered one and now i'm worried my tent is mounted too low for it to function correctly.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I did it with another brand. It will work, but you'll have excess material for sure. It became a problem during heavy rain; water will pool up in the extra folds. You can minimize it by folding the material under the tent if you know it will rain ahead of time. I always said I was going to find a tailor or someone to take off the extra and sew everything back together but I ended up changing my setup before I got a chance to do that. I'm going to be buying another softshell soon and going with 23Zero because to my knowledge they're the only company that sells short annexes for this problem.

That’ll be interesting...here’s mine on a Runner and still plenty of length...you’ll need to manage a bit of extra...EDAD5625-7238-4FE4-880D-4581CDA2D783.jpg

Didn’t notice any “size” label on mine...I’ll look later and see...

Btw: I’ve found the combo of the awning and a gazelle g-5 gazebo works best/easiest when solo...the annex can be a bit “fiddle” by yourself while draping the awning over the gazebo takes about 5 mins and gives a nice sheltered social space...2E79272F-0AFC-4460-853E-8084AFB8D87E.jpg13DDF30D-1606-48F3-BA9F-4F238CD7A94D.jpg

Fits in the back of the runner w/o problem...I can measure actual and get back to you...the 2-3 min setup is great...be sure to add the wall panels and footprint...well worth it...
