Really dig that setup, I'm curious if you could make an overhang model with an annex work at that height or not though.

You can buy the black cover separately. Let me know if you'd like one. My cost on the black covers is $115+ shipping. Shouldn't be too hard to sell your grey cover.

With the bedrack at that height the annex isn't going to be worth much. I had mine on a low profile bedrack for awhile and not only is the height too low to stand up in but you also can't stake out the annex properly and it makes lots of wind noise.

Yes you can do it and it does add some storage space underneath but it definitely isn't ideal. If you want to fully use an annex with a tacoma you need to either put it on a shell, or a taller bedrack IMHO.

Oh true, depends mostly on the height you have it. I know with mine its at the limit, my annex stretches out a lot just to reach the ground, thought having the bed rack just below the cab would be good. I wouldn't do it if you just have bed bars that don't stick up much above the bed

If anyone has this problem with their Tepui Kukenamn and low profile bed rack, I'm willing to help you out by letting you give me your annex. Problem solved :D

Haha, I'll offer that same service. I'll need one when I get a trailer.

I picked up a black cover, and it has more room too. I leave my annex on all the time, and it easily fits under the cover.

How?? Thought you have to take the travel cover off to get the annex on...

Does that fairing on the trailer make a big difference on wind drag and mileage?

Quick question for the CVT peoples. For the tents that say 2+, is that two good sized people and a dog? Me and my wife aren't small people by any means and the dog will be medium to large. So wasn't sure if 2+ will work or should I just go to 3?

I never would've even thought of that haha. Thank you.

He's just a pup still, just shy of 3 months. Stairs are still a challenge for him sometimes.

Mine is 4x8 and me and my gf are not large people, I'm 180 and she's about 130 and it's snug enough. There's no way we'd sleep 3 in there. It's a "3" man tent.

I added a track to hold the annex, it runs right next to the cover track. My black cover is larger then the silver one, I think Tepui called it a "Big Bag".
I fold up my RTT normal, and just fold up the annex around the ladder. I can set up in minutes.
Here is a picture of the cover with the annex folded up in it, I have room for two sleeping bags folded in half.

I added the fairing as a after thought, I kept hitting my head on the front crossbar. I started to just add a plate to seat on and decided to hinge it to be a fairing. I am not sure if it helps with wind drag, but it does keep the bug off. It also helps to get my 70 lbs lab in, my RTT is 6'6" off the ground and only 53" from the deck.

actually the Kukenam you have is 56" wide and 96" long, so a bit wider than 4'. It's the same size as an Autana. I have slept 3 in my Autana and my Kukenam Sky a number of times. Yes it's pretty tight, but doable. Those two tents are definitely more comfortable with just 2 people.

To the guys running the hunter orange, does that color seem to attract bugs, more importantly wasps and bees?

I'm way deep into my research and found that yellows and other floral colors attract bugs. Looking for some verification or debunking of this little known fact I got from Cliff

    Thanks

Wow, first time I've ever heard of that. Not saying it's untrue, just never experienced it or heard from anyone that has had an issue with bugs because of the tent color.

What is the ideal mounting height for properly extending the annex without over extending it? My mounting location is about 63" high. Is that in the ballpark?

Honestly I think Toyanvil has it perfect on his trailer, maybe a few inches higher wouldn't hurt but it looks good. From the bottom of my tent to the ground is about 84 inches and his is 78, so anywhere in there is probably good
