I do...... Love the extra room. Hangs out a little but still looks reasonable.... Once your bed is full of camping gear, you really don't notice it at all.

Headed to the mountain this morning. The Relentless Bars with a tent on them work really well as a kayak rack

I have the Mt. Rainier on my shortbed. I let it overhang the cab a little and the rear a little. I have no issues.

Thanks, I won't be running a shell and don't want the rack to be that high. It shouldn't be an issue with an extra foot extending over the end of the bed.

Got the rack on and put the tent on. Got too excited to take a pic of it open. Will do today after I let it dry a little, had to pack up in the rain :pout:

Billy's all around. 1.75 up front. Fisher HT 6'8" Steel blade. Custom bed rack. Mt Shasta.
Can someone give me some CVT Shasta help...Wondering if I have to take the tube that is shaped like a C that guest the overhang of the ladder every time I set up. I tried to leave it in there the first time and it wouldn't fold up nicely.

    Anyone know from experience?

I pull it off the black posts and shove it in the holes where those black posts are. Works pretty good for me

I do the same. That's how it came shipped to me.

Just have to be careful when sliding it in there. Could rip the fabric if you're not careful.

this is how it should be done. It's not meant to stay on the posts. It should be removed from the posts and slid in along the sides of the mattress. As someone mentioned be careful not to tear the fabric on the mattress.

Nice, I didn't know anyone made those. I toyed with the idea of making a rack similar before I made the one I did. I decided it would be more hassle than its worth. You will never be able to parrk under it exactly like you were when you took it off which means you end up trying to move 200+ lbs to get it on your bed. Add the fact that you just made it easier to steal and the drawbacks start outweighing the benefits.

    good point....
I was more concerned that a cow or bison or elk would tip it over if they tried to use it as a scratching post.
