The holes for the Tepui rails are on square so the rails can be turned either direction without the need to drill new holes.

For now I'll just deal with it being off the side instead of off the back. I like it on the shell!

Ok fellas I had this idea, in a nutshell it is Airbnb for RTT owners or say just anyone camping in a small RV or tenting. So basically there needs to be a forum or database where people can show what services they will have for someone staying. Maybe they could use a toilet maybe a shower, have a drop cord running from their house maybe even access to water. What do you guys think? Any ideas on how to improve this?

Basically your looking for yards to camp in that have a place for you to drop a deuce and wash off the road. Nice, looks like your ready for shark tank.

why won't the holes line up? I can't come up with any scenario where you wouldn't be able to turn those tracks 90 degrees.

side note, will the tent opening off the rear affect the ability to open the cap? or to use the tailgate?

That would be tough - most cities have ordinances stating that no one can "camp" or occupy an RV within city limits so you'd have to 1) rely on people knowing the regulations in their area and/or 2) relying on folks how don't live within a city

I know in MT there are plenty of options, fewer in the winter as most forest service roads and CG's close but there are still state parks, fishing access sites (most stay open year round). Might be a little out of the way but it sure beats having a cop or pissed off HOA person knocking on your door at 3am asking why you're camped out in someone's front yard

That is something I really didn't think about. In some places it would be great if these ordinances were not posted, alot more possibilities than trying to find a KOA or the equivalent
Yes many people do this, but the Idea is not really to make money just give more options to people just passing through. I have run into many places with no parks within a reasonable distance and I have seen a few Walmart's with no overnight camping signs.

One of the worst nights ive spent in my Tacoma was in a Walmart parking lot. Driving home form San Diego to Seattle (well close to Seattle). Pulled in around 1030 at night. The back and cab were full of stuff so i couldnt really lean the seat back. Ended up dropping to like 20 degrees and all id had out was a blanket (instead of the sleeping bag). Think i made it till 430 am before i hit the road again. Thankfully i dont drink much caffine so i stopped for a energy drink and was wide awake again.

But did sleep with around 10 other people in the parking lot!

    Too many to list now.
Just so everyone knows, my claim to fame will now be that I picked the color of the mattress cover in the Summit Series tents. No, I'm not telling you what color either. You'll just have to wait.

Go search for the tent space thread on advrider.com. There are lots of ways to make it work...just not in someone's front yard.
