@redtacoma88 just got one not sure if he has had a chance to open it yet, but I'd assume they are very similar to the other brands.

I'd love to see them to compare in person. I've had nothing but nightmares and disappointments with shittybuilt. I refuse to give one red cent more to 4 doubleu parts. I won't even type their name out because this site will hyperlink to them and I'll have contributed to their fuckery.

That being said, I'm clearly biased. I'd love to be proven wrong haha they've got the lowest price one and in the end, they really all do come from generally the same place in China. Let's see some pics when y'all get yours!

I ordered mine a few days ago, but it won't ship for another 2-3 weeks.. Apparently they are very backed up. I think it's a given that most of these tents are similarly made oversees although I'm sure the more expensive brands have better quality control and options. But I went ahead and took the risk. I will report back when I get the tent, which will prob be in 3 or so weeks

Shouldn't be an issue if it's reinforced

I thought i would be fine but after the first trip i saw hair line fractures around my bolts where my yakima bars are located. Oh well live and learn and now i have a trailer and can leave camp set up and have lots of room to bring lots of stuff for the family.

Ah. That would be where it happens. I'm trying to run my tent S little as possible until I get a Prinsu on there to distribute weight better

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on an RTT, got my eye set on the Tepui Autana. My question is, and I can't seem to find a straight answer, is it really necessary to get the ruggedized version? Is the reinforced fabric and poles really necessary, or should I just be concerned with the composite vs. aluminum base, and pay the extra dough? Can some of you guys on here with the ruggedized chime in, and some with the regular version add to it?

@SixthSnail , is yours the "ruggedized" version of the CVT? If not, have you ever had issues/felt like it wasn't going to hold up?

    Thanks!

I would suggest you talk to Box Rocket, he is the Tepui vendor and can answer all your questions that you may have and provide you with enough information for you to make the best decision for your needs. Everyone here will have good input and information about their experiences, but getting all the answers to your questions about RTT's would best be talking to a representative that deals with RTT's on a daily basis. Hopefully Tepui Tents will have another satisfied customer.

I can't make a comparison, but I will say that my Kukeman Ruggedized looks like it might live longer than me.

Mine isn't ruggedized since the summit series hasn't come out yet. I might make the switch since CVT has a program to upgrade your tents. Not sure if Tepui does.

I don't think mine will fail any time soon. Maybe in like decades. It's built well and the fabric is strong. I didn't want heavy fabric since california is never too cold. It works for me. Depending on when you are trying to order, mine will be on my truck when I get back from break on January 3rd or 4th and you are welcome to check it out. I'll finally have expo springs that can deal with the weight.

Edit: I also wanted mine for the size. It is the smallest RTT with an annex from any company. Didn't need a big one for just me and my girlfriend. Not saying I won't ever upgrade.
