Just a heads up to everyone, make sure your tents are sealed tight and make sure all internal flaps are in the correct position when folded shut. I last put my tent away in October on a 70 degree day and opened it up Saturday to find mold. Not sure what caused it but I know here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon we have set a new December record for rain and it's not stopping anytime soon. I will be looking into a lift system to install in my parents garage to keep the tent when not using it in the winter.

Shout out to Bobby @Cascadia Tents as he is going to meet me over the New Years weekend (since I'll be in Bend) to get me a new mattress since mine got mold on it.

Random question about this, I just got finished cleaning the mold off of mine.
In the picture attached, did you just have mold in the spots circled in Orange, and only in those spots?

That's where 99% of my mold is. Looks like it did trickle up into a few other spots as well. Except some water did make it through and mold the mattress. Bobby said to ensure that the flap covering the zippers is below the floor of the tent when folded and make sure the flaps where the zippers are get closed up tight. Said it is possible that rain got into the channel and soaked around. I would say be careful stowing blankets and such in the tent and be sure to have the overhang stuffed in so the tent folds 100% flat.

Alright thanks, my Tepui had the same identical issues on the lower tent flap's 3 sides. Luckily it did not make it past the canvas just fixed this the other week. If you haven't cleaned the mold already, these steps worked great.

    Caring for Mold and Mildew

If there is moisture trapped in the canvas material for a length of time, mold and mildew may start to form. If mold starts to form it can stain the canvas and produce foul odors. This does not make for a pleasant camping experience! In order to handle mold properly, follow these steps:

    1. Open the tent up and brush the affected area with a hard bristled brush to get and loose dirt off.

    2. Using the same lysol solution discussed above (1 cup lysol to 1 gallon water), wash the canvas using a sponge and the bristled brush.

    3. Rinse the tent off with a solution (1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup sea salt, 1 gallon hot water).

    4. Once the lysol solution has been properly washed out, let the tent air dry for several hours in order to prevent future mold from forming.

Re-coated with waterproofing afterwards. (Heavy on all the seams and a few inches up on all the sides.)

Yeah I saw that when looking for solutions to clean with. Bobby mentioned the HDX mold and mildew cleaner is what they use. I have the tent open in my parents garage (thankfully we only live 2 miles apart) and I'll be scrubbing away this week and re-coating with some 303 Fabric Guard like Tepui recommends.

For anyone out there trying to run snow board carrier this winter and also want to have the RTT on the rack. I mounted my Thule snow board holders upside down, under my tent on the relentless bed bars. Works out perfect. Allows you to carry your boards safely and have them all locked up, and you do not have to remove the tent. I would think this would work on most bed bars and bed racks. As long as you have enough space under your tent for the boards and bindings.

Temperatures in the teens and we woke up to an inch and a half of snow. No problem. We were warm as could be.

The key is the electric mattress pad. And the little buddy heater to preheat the tent. My wife was happy. And the dogs had a hot water bottle inside their sleeping bag.

You gotta pull the little fabric flappy thing down before putting the metal rods in the base for the awnings...

Otherwise it looks awesome! Can't go wrong with a white 1sty and a CVT!

Does anyone use a heated blanket and 12v extension cord? If so what brand, I'm worried about some of the cheaper Chinese ones setting my shit on fire, I guess thats a concern with any heated blanket but still I would like a quality one for my tent!
