Fixed my broken buckles. Used those Sea to Summit replacement buckles and it was an easy swap. Have an extra now incase it breaks again while im out camping. Wish CVT got back to me but atleast it was a quick cheap fix

These are the only ones i found that have a screw (or pin) on 1 side so that you can replace the buckle without getting it professionally sewn on. They have 1 pin and 2 pin versions. Make sure you get the 1 pin version (as pictured) and in 1" width

Hey quick questions for those of you guys with RTT's mounted at cab height

    1. What were the significant MPG loss? has anyone calculated?
    2. How is it with weight distribution? Ive heard mounting so high can unbalance the truck, has anyone felt the truck wanting to roll at anytime more than usual? Any close calls?

No actually this place feeds a bunch of strays and when a group moves one just adopts you till you leave.

Can't speak to the mpgs, but I have not noticed anything alarming with respect to being top heavy. I drive very slowly, though. It seems obvious that it would decrease the angle at which the truck wants to tip over, but I haven't gotten close to that.

It's not anymore tipy than it was before, I purposely mounted my tent at cab height to help with mpg's on long trips, so far the drop is negligible even with my 4cyl I'll report back how it is with the new gears

yea to save MPG and to keep truck balance its best to lower , my only concern is if I want to have an annex, or mount an awning, it would be too low for both of those...what do you guys think?

I have the top bar of my bed rack right at the same height as the 3rd brake light making most of the tent sit above the cab. (Enabling me to use the annex/chaanging room and stand up in it)

I will report back about mpg as this is the first full daily driven tank with the tent on. Last few tanks have been without the tent or with a trip in the middle of a tank.
Between my last trip and a couple of days driving to work, I got 13.5 miles per gallon. Normally without the tent, i get around 14.5-15.5.

On the weight/Top heavy note, I havent been able to notice it unless going highway speeds and then existing on one of those round about exits.

I didnt notice any change in mpg. The weight on hills is a little more noticeable than anything and around curves like ^ he said.

I have mine mounted on top of my canopy...so worst for airflow and as high as can be.

MPG wise...i honestly dont really notice it all that much. Maybe 1mpg less. But that i shard to measure if its truly the tent or just traffic, hills, ect.

As for center of gravity...i can tell its up there on off camber stuff or things like round a bouts.

Biggest thing i noticed was how much wind it catches. When its windy, its hard to get over 65 with the tent on.

Heres a picture for reference of how high mine sits. I did end up getting a 4runner rack im gonna mount with a wind fairing off of it.

Mine sits flush with the cab, mounted on Relentless bed bars. Very minor increase in mpg's and no center of gravity issues. I drive like a crazy person usually
