Any one have any little tricks to limiting the amount of wind flap for the canopy over the roof? Just wondering if anyone has tried anything to reduce the noise from it.

Going to put the tent REALLY high... probably won't fit yours as the mounting width is different.

Looks like it could be a couple inches higher, hard to tell though from a picture.

You could fab your own if you have the time. That way you can make it custom. Or just get a Prinsu rack because they look sick

You'd probably be fine mounting it on your shell, many people do without reinforced shells

Not wind flap while driving. I mean when trying to sleep in it. Wife is having trouble adjusting to the noise. Unless I can think of something better, our next trip in two weeks will come with the "ear plugs while sleeping" mod.

What is actually flapping, the rain fly thing or the actual tent?

The rain fly thing. The wind just gets under that thing and really start flapping the side walls. I've tightened the straps that attach the fly to the tent, but it doesn't seem to really help. There may be no cure, as tents flap in the wind. I just didn't know if anyone had tried something on here.

I don't think you'll be able to fix that. as you said... tents flap. nature of the beast. the tighter you try to pull them... the more the risk of damage. you'd be better served just trying to find a better spot (if possible) to camp, or repositioning your vehicle.

Lots of people mount them on non reinforced shells. I'd just get a good rack like a Prinsu that distributes weight well. You'll have no problems if you do that. I wouldn't mount it on Thule Bars or something similar though unless you're reinforced.

Thanks! Yeah, had some "issues" arise in my life that caused me to have 0 time to wheel, or mod so I jumped off here as not to be tempted LOL...

as I posted earlier, I can't wait to get my rack built (starting this weekend) and repair/mount up the RTT. I'm hoping to get 2-3 camping/wheeling trips in before Rock Therapy to work out all the kinks.
