Damn that sucks. is it around a spare or over your tailgate? (mine is over the tailgate so a bit harder to take off, but very easy if a knife is involved) You could get one of those long cables (http://www.lowes.com/pd_656868-382-..._clickID=d7cfc7e3-8a00-478c-abb0-bf142327b1d8) weave it around your straps, bag, and spare. but in the end... like most things... if a thief want's it, they're going to get it... just keeps the honest thieves honest.

Not sure, my buddy gave it to me. I think it came from his old wives car or something. I looped it around the buckles that hold the ladder down when it's packed away. Works like a charm

 

Yes they are! Amazes me how entitled some people are. I've met people out camping who make a mess. I've confronted a couple and their response has always been along the lines of "don't we have rangers to clean up". Makes me sad when they say that. Course they have all been younger folks from Seattle which explains it.

I remember in boy scouts whenever we packed up in a campground we weren't "done" till we brought 10 pieces of trash to the adult leader. Amazing how much trash you can find around campgrounds. Even backpacking trips we could usually find 5 pieces each or so.

It's part of why when I go I bring as little trash as possible. Use ziploc bags for most everything and get rid of all the extra packaging that comes with stuff. A 4 day trip and I'll often have less than a gallon size ziploc worth of trash.

 

I remember those days, hell most of our "hikes" were little more than trial cleanups. no matter how short our "hike was" we always had a back pack, and always had two extra garbage bags with us. I don't remember ever not bringing at least 1 bag back full.

Even when I'm hunting in Eastern Oregon, I'm still picking up trash along the way (much to the annoyance of my hunting party lol) just part of camping for me.

 

Got a question fellas on your Awnings those with ARB, CVT or Tepui it really doesn't matter a RTT is a RTT they all based on one design but some are have better quality. Can you guess which one I decided are better LOL...

But wanting to figure what is best for mounting the Awning, Tepui recommends attaching it to the RTT but since I have this Custom mount ive been thinking about Fabricating mounts "clamps" to my Rack so I don't have no need to mount it to the RTT.. Was thinking about getting custom clamps in the Gold Vein powder Coat and attaching it to the rear bar but need ideas guys. Send me pictures!

 

hey guys for the security nuts, what size should I get? I'm buying them in advance of the rtt so I have no clue

 

Pirhett well I have been thinking about getting those security nuts but honestly I don't know where to start all I have is the Lock nuts... and have had it on my truck for going on a few months now... guess I have been lucky.. plus my house is a fortress LOL... cameras everywhere ha ha ha. But could use the intel on where to buy these locking nuts.

Yeah I can. I had another member message me about an itinerary. A little busy at work right now, but will post something up later. I can also add you to our message to make it easier for you to find down the road. 10 days was a push, but we also visited family in Washington for 2 nights. Getting up to Canada and back in 10 days is definitely doable, just expect 7-9 hour drives. Good thing is, the driving is pretty awesome as the views are amazing. Getting to Oregon and back in 10 days would be a breeze.

This has no name brand on it. A couple years ago, a group of us when straight to the factory in China that produce these. Details can be found in this forum, but out of respect for Tepui and CVT, I'm not going to link it. It was a difficult process and risky for those of us that did it, but we got top of the line tents (matched against all the specs of reputable providers) for half the cost. It is the same dimensions as the CVT Mt. Shasta or the Tepui Autana.
