Now I realize this is a loaded question but I'll ask it anyway. Was the debate ever solved on weather it's warmer in a RTT or on the ground? Thanks as always

As a staunch ground camper & sometime a hammock sleeper I've always consider the ground to be a Insulator. Now that being said, a RTT at least most of them are set up so the part that has the ladder is on a maybe a 5 or 10 degree angle. Is that the way the are? or could this be fixed? Another question now while your in the tent is someone always sleeping with their feet in the breeze or do RTT's have a insulator over the inlet to the tent. Thanks

The door zips up completely just like a normal ground tent, no issues with feet dangling in the cold. You also have a 2" thick foam mattress insulating you from the base of the tent which is another inch or so thick. The tent opens flat across both halves when set up.

ok That is the extent of my questions for now. I'm sure I'll come up with more thanks.

Anything you can do about a broken handle, maybe a credit towards a power lock? Little over a year my handle broke off of mine, thankfully it wasn't locked

Mine broke after 14 months. I reached out to P&L anyways and their customer service rep sent me a replacement for free. Unfortunately its still the same plastic design that hits the metal strike plate but now I just make sure to clean and re-lube the plastic piece every few months.

Hmm I may try that route. I think the handle is just a poor design, too much lifting pressure for too little plastic. I wish it were based on the factory handle more

Agreed. If I get real motivated one day, I may try to tweak that plastic piece but reinforcing it with some metal or something. Haven't really thought about it in detail but it seems like making it a bit stronger would help it handle the repeated pressure on the metal plate.

Maybe an epoxied metal L bracket on the back side of the handle would do the trick since mine broke where the corner meets. But besides the handle itself the key cylinder could use some work as well, it was always tricky getting the cylinder to move one way or another

Finally got to use my RTT this last weekend. I'm a fan! It worked great with me and the dog (60ish lb Lab/husky mix) inside once he circled it for about 20 minutes sniffing. My only gripe the first night was I didn't level the truck, so I kept rolling towards one side of the tent. The second night I parked on some firewood and it was almost level, and @DannyBFresco gave me his old 1" (I think?) memory foam pad to put down and it helped alot more! I still think I'll be getting a 2"-3" pad for my next trip.

Also, I learned the hard way to do a complete and final check before folding it up. I was had just got done throwing the final straps over and was walking away when I tried to look at something across camp and realized I'd left my glasses in one of the pouches on the inside. Needless to say I got alot of practice in putting up and tearing down the tent last weekend!

Question: Do you lift the dogs up into the tent? or Teach them to climb a ladder? Thinking the second might be easier.

I lift mine up. Tent is only about four feet to the base and he's a beagle so it's not too difficult.
