So bought the ayer this weekend. Tent must be bad luck @cmack was going to get the bolts at East side oreilly that night and got pulled over, got off with a warning. Anyways I have been looking at ways to stop people from stealing the tent and was probably going to do the eyebolt method with a padlock but then realized that the bed rack just takes a few bolts taken out and they can just take everything. so are there any easy ways to keep the bed rack secured? Figured I should secure that before I secure the tent down. I know that probably however it gets secured someone can still just steal it if they want but I want it to be more difficult than just a few bolts so if they do take it I want to make them work for it. I can post pics later after class

Hey I am curious as to who here uses an anti condensation mat in their tent? also does it actually work and is it worth spending money on one?

eesh.. that's kinda brutal. I don't know if i'd spend that.

How bad is your condensation issue? Would cracking the windows or keeping a skylight open help combat it?

See if they sell some sort of 1cm thickness perforated mesh stuff at a hardware store, should work similarly

I have it and use it. It does make a dfference on the colder mornings. You got any boat/marine shops in your area? That's what the original purpose of the AC mats was for - to keep moisture build up out of cushions on boats. Might be a little cheaper for you to buy locally :notsure:

I got pulled over like 3 or 4 times when I first got my tent. Only one the cops had ever seen, didn't know what it was and they thought it was a hazard. Finally asked the cop of he could put up a memo at the station saying not to bother the nice girl in the white Toyota:laugh:

Out of curiosity, when's the last time anyone heard of a rtt being stolen? I've considered security nuts, or locks, but I don't live or park in a high crime area and find most campers/hikers to be good folks. Seems like stealing a rtt would be a metric shit ton of effort.

One was just stolen up here off a trailer, in a secure parking lot, on an Army post. If they want it they will get it. When I put mine back on in the spring it will be secured with some variety of specialty security nuts.
