CVT had a story about a tent/trailer stolen earlier this year. Took a few months to recover it.
I don't worry too much. Would take a while to loosen all of the nuts and bolts. Somebody's bound to notice someone in the act...maybe have time to stop them. I park outside, quiet neighborhood but not perfect. Leave it at trailhead, etc. No ones ever bothered it.
Of course most folks don't have a clue what it is or what it's worth.

Most people down here don't know what the fuck it is, so I don't think they'd take it. Plus I don't park in shady areas

Guy got me to roll down my window yesterday in traffic because he had been thinking about getting one and wanted to know if they're worth it.
They still aren't as popular over here on the east/gulf coast.

Got mine all mounted up to the new shell. Ready to head up to Kentucky tomorrow.

Not really happy with the rails that were on the shell. I have some plans to use some super strut for a stronger mount and much easier to put on and off after this trip.

Question for everyone that has their tents mounted below the roofline: how much space is between it and your rear window / top of the cab??

Not exactly what youre asking for since my tent sits slightly above roof line but Tepui Ayer on Tall Relentless Bed Bars with KB Voo Doo bedside caps. The RTT sits slightly above the roof line but flush with the top of my Prinsu rack.

Bottom of tent platform is about 11" from the top of the bedside.

Are you worried about drag? Or being able to use the window props for that side? I would be more worried about the latter.

The props. Guess we will see this weekend. Have enough room to slide the rack back about 3 more inches the way I set it up today on the new rack. Too wind to want to mess with it right now to test it

Something I didn't consider when drilling holes in my bed to secure the rack I had....can't remember the exact angle needed. I was just shy of whatever I needed...left a towel between the cab and props when I wanted the front window open
Set things up temp with c clamps or whatever, adjust as needed

Mines mounted an in above my box and I have plenty of room to open windows. Ive slid mine almost flush with the inside of my box and the window opens over the cab it takes a little work but its not that hard. Mine opens up as you see on the drivers side hope to one day put it on a canopy but I am truck broke as of the moment lol so that'll be awhile plus I wanted to use my tent this year and set it up like that. ive got room to put some decent sizes totes under it. :D I don't have to worry about anyone stealing anything due to the pain in the ass it would be to try to get it out of the box. Hey Cascadia thanks great product :D something things I wish the pioneer Shasta had that the new Shasta has like the travel sinch buckles and a anti condensate mat :D.
