My truck's already a heavy bitch. It'll be mounted via over-the-softopper.

I realize the more weight higher up adds more to a roll-over risk. But I've never heard of it being a soul cause of the roll over. Usually someone was just going too fast... Thanks for the reply.

completely justifies mounting steel skids under the entire undercarriage and plate bumpers front and back. 150 lbs on top of the truck counterbalanced by 300+ pounds armor hung low.

I put Velcro brand heavy duty Velcro on my straps. the stuff that was on the tent didn't hold up so well and I actually had a strap come loose while driving a time or two. Once I changed the Velcro I haven't had a problem.

Between the suspension, roof rack, and RTT, I def feel you on the regear. Shit is weak these days, searching for gears & Reving high as hell on the freeway at cruising speeds too.

I can't say I've experienced any of those things. My tent is mounted at cab height. The only time I even notice it is a hard corner, or very strong cross winds.

Edit: Although mine jumped gears an any incline without weight so no difference there.

Good to know. I just have two dry bags and a chainsaw on my roof rack and I was getting tossed around on the 40 last week. I'm sans sway bar also.

I have 4.88's and a five speed. So I pretty much never go over 65. I have a DD so truck is just my expo/camping rig.

    Dodging tumbleweeds
We built a little RTT city this weekend in NC. It was my first time sleeping in it since it was installed. Still debating if I like the height(red truck, gray tent). Temps got down to 27, minimal condensation. Hoping we get some rain this week to put out the local fires so I can go camping this upcoming weekend.

Also noticed a slight improvement with my driving and MPGs since I got this thing. I'm known for my heavy foot but I've found myself slowing down a bit, especially since my RTT peeks over the cab. I went from 15-16 mpg when I first got it to 19 mpg with this last fill up on the way home today.
