All right ill have to replace my ladder with another telescoping one then. Doesn't do me any good if it collapses when I climb up

the dimensions on the site include the ladder

you can screw them to the base - but it makes cleaning the tent tougher as the mat is not as easily removable. i leave my loose and when its time to close up the tent I fold the mattress up, place the mat on top, then close the tent. when its time to set up again the mat and mattress will stay on the bottom side and not slide out

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
All y'all who use bungee cords / shock cords inside your RTT to pull the sides in when folding it:

What length are y'all using (unstretched)? Don't want to put something that will pull the sides in too tight

We just took my ladder and threw it in the Mill before installing. Drilled holes the entire length. Can adjust it to whatever we need. works perfectly and was free-99.

Did you reinforce your shell at all to distribute weight? Mine is pretty solid up there but I keep kicking around the idea of adding more support somehow.

Not at all. I have the front and rear @PrinSu racks which I think distribute it pretty well. 2 of us were up in it moving around and it felt good and solid... no noticeable crreeeeks.

Thanks. What's the height of the non-ladder part? That's what I really want to make sure is aligned with the top of my cab, as I build a bed rack. My guess is that it's something like 14".

He did order the less expensive one. It is a 2 piece depending on the size. It will need to screw the self tappers into the joists in the floor. We normally just put the screws at the ladder side for the mat.
The 1st one shows the mat. We screwed it down in the beginning with longer straps. The 2nd one is the floor underneath the aluminum sheet.
