Yeah, you'd have to be aware of how thick the toppers are and if it'll be able to close with that on top. Most of the ones I've seen on Amazon you put on top of an existing mattress and I didn't want to put that much strain up there. But if you find one to fit and willing to take the risk and put in work... savings of a hundred would be worth it. Ease of mind and work I went with Tepui and love it. Sometimes trying to save a hundred can end up costing more in the long run... Let us know what you ended up with and how you like it.

 

I've got a Shasta Summit with a 56"x96" sleeping area. I was going to buy a queen size topper and trim it to fit. Ended up going with a full size 3" memory foam from Costco (MF is heavy as well). It's like 20" short in length but fits perfect width wise. We keep the short end to our feet. The 3" is on top of the CVT mattress as well, so there is mattress in the 20" void of MF. That's where clothes and stuff goes anyway. Ass, hips and shoulders are all good. Also picked up some MF pillows and down comforter to go with it.

Yes, the tent will close with all that in it but it's tight. We now keep the pillows bagged and on ethier side of the ladder and it makes a nice package.

One thing I have learned when folding up the tent is to sit on it and chill for a bit while the MF squishes down then good to go without having to fight it.

 

I'm selling the ladder not the tent! Haha

But if you're interested in it, gf and I might want to upgrade size before moving. Why aren't you gonna get in on that GB??

My girlfriend and I took our old memory foam mattress topper from Costco and cut it to fit. Great addition.
