Question for those who own CVT tents without the overhang. Have you been able to attach the annex? Between the male end not wanting to engage or slide through the track and the weight wanting to pull it out, I've been unable to thread it around the base. So far, it's been a cumbersome fail on my part.

I've done it just to do it, but it's a pain. I never use it.

I'm really liking my GoFSR tent. The quick setup (I got the automatic) makes it a breeze. I did do some minor changes to the cover buckles. But it's been nice. Also added LED lights into the cover.

Do you guys think that two Relentless Fabrication crossbars are enough to hold a tepui Kukemon Sky with two people?

OK - three years later... I'm gonna have mine on the truck till late fall, at least, and still want to get it washed. Anyone regularly going through car washes? Have we learned that its no big deal - or that its a really big deal?

I would say going through the no contact washes are probably fine. I am too tall with mine so I just go to a coin op and use those.

Hm. I tried a coin op the other day, got soaked, and still dropped $10 in coins to get the whole thing done...

Yeah it normally takes me around 8 bucks and I'm used to getting soaked. Bring your own sponge and bucket. Presoak, High Pressure Soap, shut off, sponge, high pressure rinse, spot free rinse, dry. Boom! Spotless truck. The key is to get it down to timing and have it shut off while you are using the sponge. I go when I know it is not normally busy so people don't get mad. Also expect to get wet as if you were washing a car haha.

I have so much crap hanging off the truck that I will never be able to go to a machine wash again.

Okay so I just picked up a used LEER 100r the other day and already ordered the Thule tracks to install on top. Leer customer service told me it's rated for 150lbs which I assume is for when the truck is in motion. Will I be fine mounting an RTT on top of this shell if I'm using a prinsu rack to mount it on?

Any suggestions with what LED lights to put inside the tent that is generated via a USB? Similar to Smittybilt's led lighting system that is provided with their Overland tent?

I've used similar ones before. A word of caution: the adhesive backing on cheap LED strips sucks. I add zip ties and/or a bit of heavy duty adhesive.

EDIT: I'm curious.. why use USB in the RTT instead of a 12V plug? Do you have USB ports wired in already for charging devices?

I use a portable usb battery charger to power my smittybilt LED light strip, super convenient!

Ditto. Battery brick with 2 usb ports keeps the lights on and the phone charged.
