I've got the Dakar pack with the D29XL...no complaints. I'm pretty sure the new packs are light duty and heavy duty where the heavy duty are the regular Dakar pack (not with the AAL) and the light duty are the regular Dakar pack with the top overload leaf removed.

    I could be wrong though...

This post has all the good info on the old ARB part numbers for dakars vs the new multiple part numbers:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-ome-dakar-leaf-pack-review.489540/

I have the old dakar part number with overload and all. Works real nicely when we are fully loaded for a trip

Looks like Dakar heavy duty will work just fine for my tent bedrack as a constant load even if i upgrade my rear bumper to plate, also price has a big different with deaver expedition pack.

i forgot I have a high clearance plate bumper with swingout and full spare, and full skids haha! No idea on weight. Maybe 300? plus 200 for tent and rack, plus gear? I still dont squat with normal Dakars

I can sleep well, in any condition, but my wife needs some extra comfort. I'm looking to add a 12V RV fan to the RTT, but am trying to figure out where to splice in for the always on 12V circuit. What circuit is everyone tapping into for bed outlets?

I am flexed here. But the d29xl will give me 15mm more in the rear

I'm in Dayton, so not too far away, and have a Tepui Kukenam that I picked up at REI. It's off the truck now, but if you can wait until I have it loaded up in mid august I'd be happy to show it off.

I'd probably run a fused circuit directly to the battery instead of splicing. Loom the wire, run it through your frame rail and come up inside one of your bed pockets.

I will essentially be doing that, but running a solar panel to a second battery in a box, in the bed. Will put the fuse panel from that battery. So I dont need to run all this wire to the rear

Anybody have any suggestions for a temporary cross bar set up on my DCSB? Last weekend I ran the RTT on my roof bars and it was miserable (Removal, shitty MPG, sway, etc). I ordered some C4 Cross Bars today but they will not be in for my camping trip this weekend. I was thinking some sort of 2/4 cross bars with the RTT temporarily mounted for this weekend

Can someone give me an idea of how much room to leave between my tent and the back of the cab? I just built a mid-height bed rack (9" above the rails) and left the front upright bar 10" from the front of the bed (about 11.5" to the glass. I am picking up a tepui kukenam on my next trip out to CO and want the rack to be ready. Do I need alot of clearance to zip the cover on and off?

Your biggest problem may be the fact that the window springs closest to the cab may touch the cab and make your front window unusable. @omegaman2 is currently going through that issue currently.
