Yup...I had the same GT140 as you but have the CVT Mt. Shasta Extended Stargazer Summit now. If I would've just bought the GT165 like originally planned, I would've been good to go from the jump.

you catch branches on it, i tear small holes in my covers and have to reseal it. the taller it is the more likely it will catch. But weight wise i dont notice any mileage drop

I guess my next question is for those with extensions- can you flip up the extension part and not use it if desired?

I often take a 12v weed sprayer (15gallon) that has only ever been used for water

I plan to mod the bed bars to accomadate a plastic table like jberry did (ithink) and have light pod tabs. Axe and shovel on quickfists. When i was younger we would buy rubbermaid tubs for most the storage of camp stuff. Figure they will all slide under tent and bars.

You could sorta pull it back and tie it off I guess. I've never had a reason to

    Stuff. Also things.
Mine is quite high and I notice it. When I'm off-camber, it's a little too sketchy for me, so I'm cutting off about 8" of bed rack height and turning mine into a mid-height. It should help considerably. I do a decent amount of 'crawling' and shelf road driving, so that's a big part of things for me.

I have a vestibule and annex on mine, and I will say that the full height is fantastic with the annex. But I'm confident that the annex will still be useful at the reduced height, especially since half of the space is still the height of the vestibule ceiling and not the tent floor. I'm going to sew in some straps to bunch up the excess annex material at the top so that it isn't all resting on the ground.

I'm not trying to harsh your gig, but why would you not use it. If you are worried about air circulation, it doesn't effect it. If you are worried about the view, you have plenty with the other 3 huge windows. It does take some planning when you park to get the best view tho. I usually mount my tent with the ladder on the passenger side and always put the drivers side to the best view, if possible.

I'd like to see camp, sit in the tent and chat with people there, that kinda thing. Or at least have the option to.

Since you asked, I designed a new set of bed bars that I'll be having a group buy starting in the next few weeks. :)
