Poured rain for over an hour, tent and interior stayed dry. Ladder's will fill with water, BTW. Ask me how I know...

This is what I do, except also top to bottom. So they all kind of cross right in the middle.

Not sure if that makes any sense, but I don't know how to make a fancy diagram...

Ha! I use a very high end, somewhat exclusive, entirely proprietary software package called MSPaint. Is a crusher! :D

I think you've probably got the right idea. I'm always afraid that I'll introduce too much tension for too long and pull one or two of the rings off. If you've been doing it without issue, then I'm gonna try it too!

It pulls extra fabric between the tent frame into the collapsing text when folding things up. Makes buttoning things up a bit easier.

Theoretically, when it closes the bungees retract enough that there is little to no tension on them...I've been doing it for 3 years and haven't noticed any issues.

I don't have to do much 'stuffing', so yes I think it helps. I definitely don't think it hurts.

Pulls all the fabric inward when you're closing up the tent!

Here's my expert handi-work. Ignore the white lines.

Okay, now I know what those cords are for. And what those little rings are for.
What are the two thick (red in this photo) straps along the floor for?

Those are to hang onto when climbing or descending the ladder. Mine just live under the mattress.

LOL, under the mattress they will go!

I've mounted my RTT on a rack flat across the bed. Only way to lock my ladder open is to have it pulled waay out, far more horizontal than acceptable. Was thinking to simply drill two holes in the ladder frame that it could lock open at a shorter length, so it's more vertical - as intended. Any reasons not to do this?

    Here's a question...

The top of my rack is below the cab roof - can't install one of the forward facing window spring rods...
Anybody here seen a workaround for this? Bend an 'L' in the rod to clear the roof?

    Cheers, Dave IMG_0169.jpg

Bungee cord to the roof rack or through the door jam to one of the grab handles works for me
