Yes, there are a lot of evils in the world. Drugs being a major contributor. I don't like it one bit. So.... back on topic

Who's up for some winter RTT camping?

Sounds fantastic. My wife was the same. Now it's honey we need this to make your life more comfortable camping. Goes for truck parts too!

We're compiling a list of gear to make this trip, and others, more comfortable and hopefully we'll do more road tripping. I do have the annex to go around it as well. Now I'm going back thru the 14,000 posts to scope out gear and set ups.

RTT supplemented with a Hotel here and there is a nice combo for a long road trip when spouses are involved. Sounds like a super adventure. make sure to update us with the details as they unfold.

We figured that in as well. Every 4-6 days get a cheap motel and a hot pizza. I might start a road trip thread when we get closer, along with my "build".

Plenty mods on many vehicles since 1982. Current: 15 Tacoma 4X4 V6 TRD OR Access Cab Pyrite Mica- Icon full stage 7, All-Pro APEX sliders & rear Expedition Springs + custom Tampa Springs leaf spring upgrades, Timbren bump stops, u-bolt flip, Road Armor front stealth winch bumper & rear steel, Warn Vr 8000, Nitto Terra Grappler 285/75/r16, Off Grid Engineering Dual Battery system, SPod 6 switch, 2 pairs Rigid D2 spot & flood in bumper, ARE Expedition Cap, bedglide,Tru Cool 45K GVW add on transmission cooler, Re-gear to 4.56, rigid rear bumper floods, scan guage II, rigid ditch lights. full size spare on matching factory wheel, seat mods/insert, CB w/magnet mount.
Ok, so if you want support when you need it and the right flex all the time then built for just that/progressive leaf packs are what you need! I’m running an Icon stage 7 full kit and AllPro Expedition leafs. The rear shocks in the Stage 7 kit are extended travel 2.5” remote reservoir’s and have adjustable settings for both sides of the stroke. Timbren bump stops and a u bolt flip finished me off and left me with a ride like a Cadillac in all conditions loaded down or running empty. I really cannot stress how much of an improvement these changes have made in the safety, speed, quality and comfort of the ride in ANY and ALL conditions.

I have AllPro Expo, Billstein B110s, Ubolt flip kit with Wheeler's super bumps, and extended brake lines. I had Icon 2.5s with resi (standard travel) and still for sale too, but the B110s have more extended travel for me.

Mounted the tent today and opened it up to get the hang of it. I can’t wait to go use it now.

Quick question for you guys. I'm moving soon which means I won't have access to my hoist/tent storage. My current house has an 8ft garage door and the house I'm moving into has a 7ft garage door (which means I can't drive in and out of my garage with the tent on.

I'm curious if any of you are doing a one man operation of getting your tent on and off your truck? If so, how are you doing it?

Looking to get some ideas because I've got the tepui ruggedized which is 200+ lbs and I don't really have easy access to a friend to come help me put it on and take it off.

Really going to miss the ease of the hoist:

How much did Tepui charge for just the base?

I bought a kit. So you’d have to contact them. Mine came with a lot more than just the base.

I Have a pulley/hoist system, but my garage roof is low enough that it is kind of a pain. I just yesterday used the method this guy shows int he video. Worked like a charm. I'll try to eventually make my own video.

Oh heck yeah, 30 sec setup, 1 min take down, and that's not exaggerating. Went from soft shell to a CVT Mt St Helens hardshell and never looking back. The ease of setup and take down is what sold me, and just as comfy, if not more. It's sort of cave-like in the hardshell. To each their own though, the soft shells are very nice too. The James Baroud however is slightly out of my price range, I believe their cheapest one is north of $3k
