For the guys have that an RTT and your rig is a DD, do you leave your tent mounted all the time or do you have a way to easily remove/reattach it for when you go on trips? Thanks guys!

Now that I have a garage I am in the same boat. If I had a bedrack I would be set. But with the topper it is a no go.

With your rack system I'm hoping it sits low enough to just leave it on most of the time.
    We shall see...

Yeah my garage is abnormally small so others might have better luck.

I take mine down. The way I do it is to:
    • Open the tailgate and close the shell glass.
    • Place a moving blanket on top of the shell.
    • Slide the tent back on the rails and set it on the tailgate.
    • Tip it over onto a moving dolly and put it away.

It takes ten minutes to take off. A bit longer to put it back on. I can do it by myself too.

I leave it on for the camping season. I don't actually see any decrease in mpg's either but i don't calculate it. just base it off getting roughly 240 miles per tank.

thats what I use to store it.

I have to take the tent off the truck, carry it into the garage, attach the straps, then haul it up to the rafters. but realistically I don't have anywhere else where I could store it.

    Mine too as of now.
8ftbgarage doors FTW!! I have 2 inches between mine And my door. But my garage has a 15ft ceiling so I will be mounting mine up soon I think. So I can drive under and click it in. I will leave it attached to my rack so it will just click back into place.

Dumb question but does the RTT have to be centered on the rack? I am assuming so but just wanna make sure before I have my bed rack made. Thanks in advance

A small handful of select mods.
The mileage is good to know because that is where I will most likely be too once I get mine installed.

Not certain yet if I will fit in the garage or not but plan on storing mine on the ceiling regardless when its not in use.

Just make sure the tent is for the most part completely supported.

Spent several days in the new Ruggedized Kukenam XL in Moab last week. Seriously impressed with the upgrades to the Ruggedized models. I was doing a 10% off deal for Cruise Moab on the tents. I might keep that going for another week or so.

I'll probably be selling it right away and replacing it with the ExpOrange one.
