I like those RCI racks but I'm worried they're too tall for my garage. Do you have much clearance through the door opening? If you can clear it now I'm guessing a couple inches of lift and a larger tire would put you over.

Mine with my Tepui Kukenam fits. I'm lifted 2.5" on 31's. I guess it could depend on your garage height.

Try using pliers to squeeze the top and bottom of the zipper together so it holds the tracks tighter as you’re pulling the tab. I was having the same problem with the teeth not lining up but this seemed to make a HUGE difference.

These are on lightning deal right now. Got a few sets for $7.76 each with a coupon Amazon showed (had family members order for me so I could get more than one). For Xmas my wife (ahem, I) ordered an FSR M55 to go on an old Ben-Hur trailer I picked up this fall. I'll probably do one string inside the tent and two underneath for task lighting. Happened to see an earlier post on these lights and clicked the link at the right time I guess

    Happy Holidays!
    Santa Swung By Yesterday!
Dropped me off an early present because I was such a good little boy this year!
I had a small issue with the mounting... I had to bend the brackets a little to fit them around my bed bars so I could get the screws in. I’m searching through thread to find options/solutions (700+ pages is taking some time)... If any one has a better solution please share a link. Thanks & Merry Christmas!!!

Use exhaust clamps instead of the flat bars.

I was glad my RCI rack is flat on top, makes mounting easier, but I see a ton of people using the appropriate size to your diameter bar exhaust clamps.

Your tent looks like mine, you get it from the group buy?

Hey, has anyone figured out a cheap alternative to condensation mats, I only ask because I’m going camping this coming week, and they won’t show up till after I leave :annoyed:

Just go and don't worry about it--camping anywhere in the southwest right now pretty much means you won't need one. Air the tent out well during the day and when you get home if you're really concerned about it.

I haven't used the RTT in seriously cold weather yet, but the wife and I are going on an 8 week road trip this winter. Any tips on keeping it warm inside? I know some of you use heaters and electric blankets or electric heating pads, but anything else? Does it need any kind of additional insulation on the underside of the mattress? Without trapping moisture? I do have the anti-condensation mat. Other than the great big blanket that Tepui or CVT sells to go all around the tent? I'll might go with a heater for getting into bed, and when waking up. But I've gotta keep the wife warm, or it will be a miserable trip.

You could try putting those thin, reflective insulation panels on the floor under the condensation mat. I've used a propane Little Buddy heater to warm the tent before climbing in for the night and getting out of the sleeping bag in the morning. A couple minutes on low and the tent will be nice and toasty again. A good sleeping bag rated for the temps you expect to sleep in will keep it comfortable all night.

newb here, got the Tepui Anti-Condensation mat for christmas. Does it just lay there under the mattress or does it need to be secured?

We do have some great 0 degree bags, but we are looking at either a double bag, or just our heavy down comforter, a couple extra blankets, and mid range sleeping bags for emergency.

I have thought of the reflective pads or the grid foam squares under the mattress or under the anti condensation mat. Just not sure if they would trap moisture.

Mine just lays in place, and my tent has a strap that goes over the mattress to keep it in place when folding over. The strap doesn't always hold it though, and sometimes the mattress bunches up.

thanks, I was going to go regardless, but I'm actually good anyways, apparently the place I bought the mats have super fast shipping, so off to the redwoods and sequoia's come New Years :bananadance:
