I specifically ordered the BAMF bed rack, because when I put the tent on, the top of the tent will be level with the top of my plano box. The top of the rack is 17" above the bed sides.

I remember my old tent was 14" at the ladder. But I had a Low Profile RTT bedrack from BAMF, which was 13" above the bedsides. @honda50r has it now. Still made the top of the tent line up with the boxes on the roof.

    I have this tent now:

I gotchya.. Why the change in tents? Especially when both configurations were flat on top

I hope to build a canopy for my truck in the future. I plan to keep a storage box over the cab (possible DIY aluminum) to keep some sort of aerodynamics. Being tall I would have to give up the extra storage space above the cab to run anything but a flip open RTT like the CVT I have now. Not worth it to me..

Biggest reason I went with CVT @Cascadia Tents is because how good the customer service is.. Prior to owning a RTT I heard nothing but good things bout Bobby. After owning a RTT and meeting him in Oregon at his store I'm very glad I went CVT. During hanging out with him he's taking customer calls and handling issues to make the customer happy. I can't say anything about Smittybilt having no experience but I don't think you would get the quality of customer service from anyone else besides CVT, or actually get the chance to talk to the owner of the company to resolve any issues. And if you look at cost.. CVT has crazy discounts throughout the year worth waiting for and they have a TW discount (can not be combined). I got my Tent in July, I had not idea but they had a promo "Christmas in July" for free shipping.

Bobby’s a good dude. I’d agree with Chux on this post 100%

A smitty built can be had for around 700 five or take. To me I’d rather spend that 500 difference on other mods. No complaints on my tent.

Maybe i just wanted to show off the pics :notsure:

It was a good time stopping in, Bobby was actually cracking jokes while we were taking photos. We were there for a while lol. We camped right outside of Mt. Bachelor the night before and rolled into Bend late morning. While at the shop we got rid of our accumulated camp garbage, restocked our water supplies, and chilled out..

I saw @inesshell and wanted it. Easily convinced. There are positive and negatives to both styles. I like not messing with the zipper.

The first config was not flat. Had the ladder.

No issues with mine yet. Very happy with it and much easier to justify with the amount I'll probably use it. If you were closer to Ft. Worth I'd let you climb around in mine.
