I would like to on occasion. Would that Dissent rack system twist too much? I'd like a rack system that would sit high enough for the tent to clear the GPS antenna, but still look nice and blend with a cab rack.

I was initially between the Dissent system or a topper with cross bars. But yeah I need to consider something that can handle some crawling.

I was just mentioning the twist in case you were considering a tent that was longer than the bed.

You could do a topper too. Ive actually done that route. Just felt like the tent was too tall for my liking

What if the tent is only bolted to the rear of the dissent rack and just hangs over the front rails without being bolted to them? Would that work as an offroad combo?

I'd rather it freely hang over the front than the back.

If I had a cool rear bumper with a spare holder like fatfurious2, I would let it hang rearward, but it will be quite a while before I get into changing the bumpers. You have some nice setups there.

Maybe try to evenly space the hangover? That way you also have a sort of cover when you're doing something on the tailgate?

Anything more than 14" I would question support. Its not like all the weight would be there, but also would be concerned if a significant amount would make it shift.. but good points about the overhang support

    Stock....ish
You could throw some 1in spacers in between the rack and the tent so you could have it overhang the front and don't have to worry about frame flex.

Do not attach to the cab rack. Only the bed rack

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'll talk with both Dissent and iKamper and see if they agree.

That's the "Double Boot Bag". They're connected by a bar and strap to the ladder.

It's the difference between the single bags and the double bags. The single boot bag slides into the track. The double bag has a rod and attaches to the ladder.

i have an idea i want to try to make and may need the help of you guys.

Since my t bars ripped off i wanted to still somehow secure the rain fly in case of rain and/or travel. I am debating on making something that slides into the base channel like the boot bag and/or annex does. With either a T bar of my own with a pull strap type tension clip to secure with the t bar through the eyelet.

    Pics to help visualize
