What/where is the yard sale? My apologies if this a well known thing but I'm just starting into the Rtt side of things.

Most REI locations have a yard sale 3-4 times a year, at least near me in California.
Contact your closest REI and inquire.
Usually, you’ll need to arrive like 5-6am
(Ask store) and get a numbered ticket.
Then you go about your business, go home, grab breakfast and return right before store opens, usually 10am, everybody lines up in numerical order.
They let 20 people in at a time and whatever you can grab first is yours.
    No returns. But steep discounts!

I want to say the next one is in June.
They clear out all the returns seasonally.

What type of deals did they have on the RTT? I've been eyeing getting one for a while and now since I need a new tent anyways, the wife agreed that RTT is the way to go.

well as i recall it was 20% off for members. at that time last year nobody had them in stock so i just kept checking rei...i got lucky with the timing of rei getting some in stock during the sale...
had it shipped to the store 12 blocks away & saved another $150....then when it arrived the box was beat to hell & there was a cosmetic gouge in the bottom...manager gave me another 15% off so yeah...i got a good deal

I did. Spray painted it on their taco truck too. (Which is not a tacoma haha.)

So not to totally derail the thread, how many of y'all have the hard shell RTTs? Seems like they might be lower profile AKA be better on top of a camper shell at highway speeds. Not sure if it's worth the extra $$ though.

I have a low profile one, but not hard shell. I had it on top of a cap, but didnt like it so high up. Got a lower rack, and love the look now

I already have a shell on mine cause I have to keep work stuff dry and locked sometimes, so no low bed rack for me! I think I'm gonna build a removable platform with storage first and maybe go for a hardshell in the future. Some of the ones I've seen look way more aerodynamic than the blocky soft cover RTTs.

@ChandlerDOOM has a nice one in his group buy. And not at the cost of the more expensive ones

I have a Thule cargo box on the front rack and a reggo RTT over the cap, adds more storage space and deflects the wind. Like a giant multifunctional wind fairing.

The hardshell RTT's would definitely be more aerodynamic, but significantly more $$$ and less space. If you are solo and got the money, go for it. Mounting on lower bars would obviate the aerodynamic advantage I would imagine, so that is an option.

More importantly, how are the tacos?

Any idea if Tepui tents pop up on the REI anniversary sale?

I would probably be solo more often in there, maybe a +1 on occasion. Lower bars aren't an option since I am sticking with my cap. I'm getting a prinsu rack, seems to be the lowest profile option.
The tacos are good! Especially for Lynchburg, where there aren't too many options for that haha.

Anybody have the Tepui dual boot bags?
    Worth $70?
I might just get a pipe, Velcro, and two cheap backpacks instead.
I’m worried my size 13 boots won’t fit.
Looks handy though, and matches tent.
