I bought a used tent for a killer deal, even with the issues it has. Most of it was small issues that require new Velcro or a little sewing.

One main issue I'm trying to solve it the hinge system doesn't fold all the way flush when opened. It looks like the floor is bowed, was thinking about ways to fix it but figured I would see if anyone here has remedied that?

    I'll post pictures later today

How much? Got my Tepui Autana 4 for $1500 perfect shape. Was super excited. Missed out on a ruggedized on in ohio for 1k. Couldn't get a ride out. Not allowed to drive after my arm surgery.

How were you able to give enough slack to the tie downs so that you're able to pull the RTT as close as possible to the ceiling. Here is how mine currently sits because I did not have it on my truck yet and I was by myself when doing this.

I just pushed each corner of the tent (using the 2x4) up by hand as I pulled the strap, slow and steady wins the race. I was able to do this method solo.

Be careful with those ratchet straps, as you don't have as much control of the tent falling once you release the lock on the strap.

The grey cover looks better on my truck, so cant help you. If yours is in good shape and is a tepui 4 person I could use a spare.

So ive been searching everywhere and cant find exact answers regarding canopies and there weight capacities.
I want to get a canopy for my 2-3 person rtt. There is a leer 100xr near me on kijiji for a reasonable price. No rack or extra reinforcement. I would like to add a rack and the rtt to a(the) canopy. Will i need to reinforce the canopy or should i get something stronger? Contracter cap etc?

From my research and checking out Snugtop and ARE shells at a dealer they can hold about 150-200 lbs. Probably fine if you only do some light off roading but off pitch and banging the truck around stresses out the shell unless you get the structural upgrades.

Can the structural upgrades be added when i buy the used canopy? Or is this from the factory. Obviosuly tonnes of people have there tents on canopys. But searching around all i could find was it wont work cracked canopys/fractured bedrails etc. Im not crazy but i do go wheeling. Tent is 150lb plus a rack (prinsu/slimline etc) 40lb and 2 people is probably closer to 500lb range.

Short bed bars with my RTT mounted off to the left side, and a Thule Sidearm mounted to the right of it...Took the wheel off my girlfriends bike and threw hers underneath in the bed. The Thule Sidearm is great as i used this setup for a recent trip to Ohio (from NJ) and was driving speeds excess of 75mph half the time with no worry about my bike up there. Has been my temporary set up as I wait for some custom bars from Kore.
