I got the Tepui anti condensation mat for my tent, but I'm having a hard time grttget the damn thing to lay flat without rolling back up. Anyone have any tips to keep it secure?

It's taking me longer to get the mat in than actually putting the tent up LOL

I ended up putting mine in "upside down" so it was trying to roll against the floor (hope that makes sense). Then when you put the mattress in it will hold it flat. It will eventually get the idea and lay flat.

Anyone using this mattress topper? Is 3in too thick to fold up along with the included 2in mattress in the Smittybilt Overlander? Should I go with 2in to be safe since there will be other bedding or sleeping bags as well?

Try rolling it up reversed, put a cam strap around it and let it sit in the sun.

Curious for your results. I just got the smittybilt nut haven't used it. I'm thinking of getting additional topper or replacing the current one as well. Keep us posted!

    Hey Guys and Gals,

New to the RTT world and looking for some help. I have been checking out the pictures in this thread and some are just amazing. The wife and I are looking to get back into camping. We haven't gone in a few years but used to do a lot when the kids were still home. I was wondering if anyone makes a bed rack that will work with the OEM tonneau cover in place? I am looking at Tepui, CVT and Gordigear tents. I really like the iKamper tent but can not justify the cost. It will be me the wife and our dog, 60 lb. pit mix. Any help will be appreciated. Last tent I had went into the bed of my truck, but with the Taco's small bed that won't work anymore.

    Thanks,
    Jimmy

KB Voodoo rack works with the OEM tonneau, but you will not be able to lift the cover, so only access is through the tailgate.

Thank you so much. The high rise crossbars are exactly what I was looking for! I like that I can lock the tailgate and the cover can't be opened.

For Tepui (or any other brand for that matter) 99.9% of the time any damage is going to happen during shipping after it leaves to company warehouse. Tepui recommends that if you see shipping damage at the time of delivery, do NOT accept the delivery and send it back with the courier. Then contact Tepui and let them know you've refused delivery because of damage and they will file a claim with the courier. As soon as they get confirmation from the courier that the tent is being returned, they will ship out a replacement. If you accept the delivery and report damage after the courier has left it makes it more difficult, and time consuming to get a replacement sent out. So if at all possible, check for damage before accepting the delivery.

This is my project from a few weekends ago. I thought I'd share it since it works quite well. I can't quite install/remove the tent by myself, because of challenges lining things up, but it's still so much easier. It was about $100 in parts from the local home improvement store.

LOL, now that is what I would call a contraption. Very cool.

Another question from a newbie. Will it be necessary to replace leaf / shocks in the rear if adding KB Voodoo high rise rails and a 2+ RTT? Just trying to get total cost before I shock my wife ;). Sorry editing to add it is a 2016 ORD.

You could band-aid the issue with an AAL (add a leaf) to your current leaf springs. Shocks no you'll be fine

Thanks guys. I will try without adding as it there won't be any hard wheeling, at least in the beginning.

Nope. But you will feel it lean more in turns. I ran that on a stock set up for a bit before getting my lift. Definitely rides better after, but still doable without.

I have that setup and like it a lot! I store longer items in the bed lengthwise (canopies, long storage tubs, etc) so that I can easily reach them without needing to climb in for things. And other items widthwise by the tailgate - these items are also used most often (camp chairs and table, in my case)

Just remember that the tonneau isn’t waterproof. Water and dirt can still creep in. So you want to either use tubs or just be okay with some road dirt. :)
