im excited to see @DannyBFresco new FSR tent this weekend. I like that theres nothing to it but to just open it.

So I used my RTT over the last weekend and we had one night of high wind gusts that ripped the rain fly tie down out of the tent on one corner.

I've yet to open the tent to take photos and clean it out, but is this something any shop (lots marine fabric businesses around me) can sew back on for me? I used a bungee the remainder of the trip to keep the rain fly strapped down. I'll probably call Tepui just to make note on what happened, but im a tad sick to the stomach knowing my tent broke on the first long trip I took it on.

 

all mine are gone for the rainfly because insane Mojave wind. They dont sell resell them, ive tried. I am desperately searching to find replacements without any luck.

 

I have the piece to sew back on, luckily found it buried in the sand next to truck in the morning. I'm more worried about having it seen back on by someone other than Tepui.

I definitely learned my lesson to remove the rain fly if the wind is going to be insane. Unfortunately it was windy and a downpour so it was a rough night to be in a tent all around.

Gotcha. I’ve seen some racks that run flush to a prinsu or another roof rack. Interested in how they hold up.
