So impressed with the quality of RCI. The new design flows better with the lines of the 3rd Gen, imo. The packaging was really good. The instructions has room for improvement but easy enough to understand even for someone like me.

I would think it would be the ladder rubbing against the tent. Maybe double check to see if it is all the way tied down? Could be your leaf springs too?

I wish it was just the ladder. It seems like it’s coming from inside the tent somewhere. I’ll just have to inspect it and retighten stuff next time I have it open. Thanks for the response.

Alibaba is basically chinese Ebay. Basically the same as buying a no-name ebay light bar.

I have an Alibaba rtt. Not the hardshell pictured above, but one identical to the tepui and cvt tents with the overhang and annex. Paid ~$900 in total 3+ years ago and it's still going strong. Some of the seam tape needs replacing on the inside and the zipper around the cover takes a lot of attention to get it to close, but it gets the job done.

Sometimes it would be nice to have a customer service rep in the US, but the amount of money I saved was worth it. Plus I'm pretty sure a lot of parts for my tent are interchangable with name brand ones.

If you can get the shipping with Alibaba to work out, and the product isn't damaged in transit, it'll probably work out nice?

Hahaha. Was a blast. Need to figure out something for my toes though. My core, arms legs and head were warm. Just the feet were cool.

Put boiling water in a Nalgene bottle and throw that sucker in the bottom of your sleeping bag. I usually put a big sock around the bottle too so it doesn’t burn my feet initially. Works like a charm.

Deff going to try that .

Anyone ever use a 12v blanket? I've got a 96AH battery, and seems like most of them use 42 or so in 8 hrs. Considering putting one on a timer for 30min on 30 off and could cut that draw down even more.

Splice in some weatherpac plugs, another inline fuse and my battery is already in a waterproof box with a Low V cut off, might see how it goes

Fabbed, installed, and painted my awning brackets. Now to rig up some way to hold open this side window on the tent.
Is the aluminum that the rods go into thick enough to just drill different holes at different angles into? I’ve though about making some type of bracket that comes off the backside of my awning and trim down 2 rods to hold the window open. Hmmmmm

Our last camp fire had been both long and too short. We'd metered out all of our remaining wood - making it last - until the flames on the last logs finally went out. That meant we were working on less sleep that normal as we set out west - spirits high that the trucks were running, a bit bummed for the events from the day before.

But it wouldn't be long before the trucks would be patched up and we'd be on the road again - that we knew for sure!

A good sleeping bag, and whiskey is all I ever used to stay warm, if the wife isn't with me lol

If you only have like a 0° bag then how could you stay warm in temps like that? Wool blankets and things of that sort?
