*THE RTT Owners Thread (With BS)*

After looking at FSR tents I think I have my mind set into getting their tent.

Trying to figure out what RTT to get initially, deciding between a 1-2 person for me and the wife or bigger for 3-4 people, we are a family of 6 total.

You definitely need to see that 1-2 person tents in person. Very tiny and if you and your love ones are planning on becoming sardines in it. Definitely go for a large tent so you dont have to upgrade later. Which brand are you looking at? I'm currently eyeing the FRS tents. They look solidly built and their price are truly justified by their material use.

 

I have the option to buy a FSR M49 tent at a great deal. That’s why I’m leaning toward them.

 

Thinking about M55 but it's long and my bedrac is only mid height. Looked like about 2 feet overhang over the tailgate. Only of o have a taller bedrack I could center it to my cabrac.

 

Do you have the OEM bed cover?

Hahaha I have it and for some odd reason I want to keep it. For now. It’s limiting my bed rack options though. So it might be a goner soon.

 

My truck is not my daily vehicle. Trying to keep the mileage as low as possible.

 

Ahhhh see it’s my daily. 70 miles daily. I have to balance out the options of fun and practical. With that I have to lean more toward practical.

 

It seems I was looking at the wrong system. 55" high country should be perfect.

 

Definitely get something that would make camping out fun. My wife hates camping so I have to get something inviting. Haha

 

Hahaha my wife loves to camp, she’d camp in a cardboard box if we brought it. It’s me that’s gotta have the nice stuff these days. I spent to many nights overseas and here sleeping in crap places to put myself through that as a civilian now lol

 

I guess it boils down to what would be the best bang for the buck.

Perfect! Thanks, my truck will have at most a 1" lift from stock, Kings and Firestone bags. Was going to use KB VooDoo 18" on the tonneau brackets and I think that adds an inch (I believe) looking to have 3" above cab or enough to go over a Prinsu rack.

Anyone have a cab-mounted RTT with a front or rear facing opening? Reason I ask is that I'm headed to Bonnaroo and need to conserve side-to-side space as much as possible.

 

I can't imagine the rear-facing ladder would clear the tailgate (either up or down) but you'd probably be ok hanging it out over the hood. It'll be a two-man job to deploy it though.
