Now I'm starting to worry! Is RTT theft a big problem? I don't think most people in these parts even know what it is when they see it going down the road. I really don't like stuff getting gone. That's the reason I bought a Diamondback cover. I plan to put a couple of eye-bolts in the corner of the floor of RTT and put a cable through rack. If somebody want something bad enough and have the tools not much one can do besides making things difficult...and having good insurance.

 

I haven't heard of people's RTT getting stolen off their truck, or their bed rack and tent getting taken, but I have heard of people's truck getting stolen and then later recovered in a parking lot with all the aftermarket parts taken off.....

I wouldn't worry too much about the tent. Just take precautions to keep the vehicle itself from being a target.

 

I live in San Francisco most of the year, where they’ll break your window to steal a rusty spork and $0.07 in change.

 

There was a TW member in San Diego that had his RTT stolen...was a thread on it a few months back. That's the only one I've heard of on here

 

Yeah I’ve heard of them being stolen before, not often luckily but if the picking is easy, somebody will steal it sadly.

...And then - in the distance - a cloud of dust. Unsure what it was, we continued on. Eventually, the source became clear - dual combines churning through a field of wheat. Like any kid at heart, I've got a soft spot for big machines like this, and having never seen a combine at work up close, I couldn't help myself but to climb out of the truck to stand on top of the @Cascadia Tents RTT to snap a few photos.

The grin on the combine driver's face said it all - even with some weirdo standing on top of his truck, snapping photos - he too was enjoying the experience.

I've seen an RTT on a sidewalk somewhere down in the bay, with a couple homeless guys set up in it........
Never second guess the ability and drive for human beings to disappoint you.

In no time flat, we'd reached the water crossing. And, while I guess it was technically a water crossing, to suggest that it was any kind of trouble - much less the kind that deserved a skull and crossbones on the map - was pushing it.

For good measure, we went through three times. You know, just to make sure we didn't miss anything.

I'm doing a run in NH labor day weekend, unfortunately it was full otherwise I would have asked.
But we are doing a day run in NH on 9/21
I'm going to camp at Maxes new place I think.
If interested let me know cause the list is filling quick.

 

This is absolutely hilarious. I’ve been camping the last three days, and I hiked to the top of Nevada Falls in the Yosemite Valley where I got one tiddlywink of LTE and I had 21 notifications saying I was spotted on Mission Blvd.

Couldn’t stop laughing. I knew it looked ridiculous but damn haha. It’s just temporary till I shorten it and enclose it with climber’s webbing.

 

Always dreamt of being spotted on here, haha.

Thanks for the feature again, was just too funny.



I bought this thickest heaviest chain Home Depot sold and secured it in the parking lot.
