I parked under a Pine Tree and now it’s covered in sappy tree jizz. Going to be fun to clean it off.

 

I'm looking to get a 3 person roof top tent to mount to the Grand Teton roof rack from Sherpa Equipment Company but I can't find any info on what the dimensions of the rack compared to the tent should be. As in I don't want the tent to have too much unsupported overhang and begin to sag on the ends. Is this even an issue I should be concerned about. How was the new tent btw? I just installed mine from the Tepui garage sale and am dying to put it to use.

 

So since I didn't want to go back over the last 975 pages, I'll ask it here. Wife and I are looking at Roof Top Tent (maybe) but trying to figure out the feasibility of it. We have a 1st gen double cab with a shell on the back (remove the shell isn't an option). The shell is Snugtop XTR (so has the stupid tube rails built in, but hey it was $200), we have yakima bars over the cab. Is there a way to safely mount the tent to the shell? Would the weight of tent + 2 adults be a problem for ancient fiberglass shell? Looking at pictures it seems like over the cab isn't a preferred location? I have a friend who would maybe sell me a new smittybuilt overland for $350 if that matters for sizing.

 

It’s amazing, I also got mine at the Tepui Garage Sale. It’s an Autana IV but I have my doubts it’ll fit four people. You could fit two up there comfortably and another two in the Annex.

Maybe I'm biased but I always thought RTTs looked odd on full size trucks, especially stock ones

 

I think it's usually the size. The big tents on a nice rack look good IMO cuz they're more proportional to the truck's size, just like the mid-size tents fit ours nicely
