Installed the @KB Voodoo Rack and Yakima Skyrise HD. Looks great. Only hiccup was discarding Yakima’s clamps and mounting directly to the rack for support at 4 sides.

Hey guys, need to replace the travel cover on my Tepui Ayer 2. Im torn between gray or black. Thinking the black would provide better drying (hotter) during the winter, but Im wondering if it will look like shit once its dusty and dirty. (gotta keep it clean for all the mall crawling, right :D ) Plus I wonder if it will be too hot during the summer, is there even such a thing..?

So this leads me to 2 questions - does anyone have any pictures of a Tepui mounted on their truck with the black cover? Or can anyone point me to a page # in this thread?
Also, someone said last year that the new covers (new logo) dont work with the old tents? Is that true? Ill be pretty disappointed if that is the case..

I have the black cover on my kuk and it does get pretty hot... Also, from what I've seen the black tends to fade much quicker.

    Yeah.
I use a bungie cord attached to the roof rack for that side of the awning. Works great. Some people just leave that side buttoned down.

Yes also a concern. Maybe some of the guys with stock black covers on their Roam or Smittybilt RTT's will chime in about the durability

I went with black because it looks better on my truck.... lol. To each is own, eventually they'll probably have to be replaced with in (relatively) the same time frame, so get what you think looks best.

...Our answers were of course mundane. We were from Washington, but had just traveled on dirt roads all the way from Nevada to Canada - can you believe it? We had no guns, alcohol, or tobacco...much less $10,000 in cash. And we were going to be in Canada for about five minutes.

And that, apparently, was a problem. "You mean you're just going to turn around the office and head back to the United States?" The border service officer asked.

    "Yep." I responded.

And with that, he held on to our passports and asked us to park the truck, letting us know that if we'd just wait a few minutes, our passports would be returned to us. Awesome.

I have the black “stock” cover on my
Smittybilt. Where I’m going, I just open up the tent and let it air out so I don’t worry about the temperature! What happened to your cover?!

Nice! Those are on the top of my wish list right now. Which pattern did you go with?

I did spot / flood. They’re bright little buggers. 2500 lumes each set
Depending on what you’re doing. I’d do flood on both.

Or. Get the Rigid dually SS PRO. My buddy has them and they’re wicked.

*edit - I highly recommend the Rago ditch light brackets. I had another brand and the lights reflected off the hood to much.

Got a new bed rack last weekend and already broke it in camping. Digging the cab height. For some reason I enjoy being up higher off of the ground vs the mid height rack I had. I haven’t noticed a decrease in mpg’s or increase in wind noise. The only thing that sucks is my truck no longer fits in my garage with the RTT mounted.

Funny thing is I bought rack ditch lights like 8 months ago but haven’t been able to decide on which lights I want to go with. Sounds silly but since I have the squadron’s I’ll most likely go with S2 pros. Good call on going with the flood pattern.

When you went to Yellowstone and Tetons, could you camp anywhere with a RTT? Or did they have specified places for non hard sided campers? I know there are serious bears near those campgrounds
