    Yeah.
Think about how you are going to do the swap. I have a Racor hoist in the garage for removal and storage, but you need to be sure you can get in and out of the garage with the tent on the vehicle. Using the CBI mid-height rack, I only have a couple of inches clearance on the stock Pro suspension, so I'd only be able to do a small lift and still use the same removal/storage method. Pretty sure if I put the tent on the wife's 4Runner I would run into clearance issues.

Well I figured I'd do it outside. Neither truck would be parked inside with the tent on. I realize they are kind of unweildy but with two people it should be doable without a hoist, no?

Lots of dollars and no sense...
Possible but careful who your second is. My girlfriend and I struggle, well she does, with taking it off. She's just tall enough to touch the sides but can't push up on it off the bars. We have some very unfriendly words exchanged during the process. Have a buddy help you to save your relationship.

Haha thanks. My wife is a fucking beast (she'll never read this) so I think I'll be okay.

After spending all night researching and watching videos I actually decided not to do the Mt Shasta. I was basically comparing the Mt Shasta, Tepui Kekenam, ARB Simpson, ROAM Vagabond, Front Runner. When it was all said and done the ROAM looks like the best bang for the buck. $1350 to my local dealer (Mike's Custom Toys), no sales tax (thank you Oregon for being so close by me!), has a lot more features than the next closest choice the Tepui. I'll keep reading the thread cause it's interesting but I'm pretty much locked in to the ROAM at this point!

Haha thanks. Wouldn't exactly work on the Runner due to the hatch opening and a spoiler that would break off but I get the idea. PS you had a helper there the whole time - dude shooting the video! LOL

    Yeah.
That Vagabond is 150 lbs, so 75 pounds each lifting it up above the rack. You'll likely want some tall sawhorses to set it on to switch grips. My wife is way too short and would collapse under that load.

I looked at those as well, went with a free spirit high country. I love that tent. My wife helped me put it on and take it off once. After that, I installed a chain hoist in my garage. Now I can do it alone.

Putting up a hoist was the first thing I did. Now I can do it myself in about 5 or so minutes.

Also to be fair until about 4 posts ago I hadn't heard of FSR. I was working off tents I had personally seen and / or internet searches. FSR never popped up in searches.

I hope I'm not bugging, but mind posting a picture with the RTT in it? I have a hoist as well, but i see some interesting connection points, and was curious how it works.
