Also, link to the tent: https://overlandvehiclesystems.com/...se-with-green-rain-fly-black-cover-universal/

(I should have gotten a great discount for all this promoting I'm doing, but hey they were a great group of people and have what appears to be (we'll see after many more uses) a great deal on an awesome tent!

Get some 1.5" (I think?) lashing straps. Run them all the way around, through the little retainers that hold the original straps to the edge of the frame, and between the rails and tent to hold them in place.

So i have been having an issue with my CVT Rainier. When i open it up the center portion of the floor along the hinge does not sit inside the groove like it should. it sags. I have been having this issue a lot lately but i dont camp enough do figure it out. I had this issue last weekend and back in May for two trips when the tent is folded up everything looks straight. with some finagling i can get it into the track and make it work but something is not right. do you guys follow what i am saying and has anybody else had this issue??

Pics would help but sounds like a bent or loose hinge.

Thanks. i wish i would have gotten one. it is the long tongue and groove that wont set right and only in the middle. I look for a hinge but any other ideas

    Yeah.
Have you checked with a straight edge? Sounds like it is slightly warped. Might be able to rig something up with your bottle jack to straighten it out.

only issues i've seen with the center parts not clicking is a loose hinge unless somehow you've bent the floor.

The main side hinges. I just check all the bolts and see. Maybe ones slightly loose causing it to drop a bit when opened up. Check the hinge to the floor bolts as well as the actual hinge itself.

So the one I had (Mt. Hood, 74" wide) would do the same thing. To counter it, I would load a little weight inside on the overhanging side and then align the interlocking strip by hand. The wood floor has some flex and I figured that eventually, the fabric would stretch more and allow it to sessile in better without the help.

so in essence on the inside portion of the tent. the part that does not flip over, the stationary side you would weight it down in the middle. am i understanding you correctly? thanks anybody else. wonder if it is a big tent issue

No. I would weigh the fold out side with bedding/gear to help it combat the tent fabric that seemed to be holding it back from folding flat and engaging the (aluminum tongue and groove).
Otherwise, it would get really screwed up once I got in.
Basically, I could unfold the tent and set the ladder but the only way to get it level and the strip engaged was to hold it there by force.

Just push up from the center bottom. It will go into place. Or waste your time doing all that other shit

For anyone having issues with the terrible mattresses... my buddy added 3 inch foam topper in his Tepui Kukenam 3. He replaced the “Velcro straps” that pull down the tent with actual ratchet straps. Picture below is what he replaced with actual ratchet straps.

I’ll try to get a picture of his. He just drilled two holes through the strap itself as screwed it back in place where these Velcro straps would go. Allows you to use some foam topping and still be able to close it without difficulty

Be careful winching too hard on those side mounting points, I've definitely seen them pull out before.

Once winter rolls around, I'm going to replace the velcro straps with new webbing set up with some of these guys. A little loop at the top point and these should be easy on and off with a better tension and without all the double-D ring and velcro bullshit.

If you aren't using the annex then I think it doesn't matter which side it opens. User preference. But I have found in the colder months if you use the annex and wanna warm the truck up to get warm or defrost then the exhaust gets into the annex on passenger side. Just something I noticed so I switched mine to open driver side for fall/winter camping.
